Review: The unethical behavior I encountered at Americas Best Value Inn in Hollywood not only ruined my day but also triggered a severe anxiety attack for my spouse, who already suffers from anxiety.
During our brief encounter with the staff, we were subjected to a swindler who tried to exploit us by insisting on canceling our prepaid non-refundable reservation. This demand, accompanied by a higher rate for fewer nights, caused an immense amount of stress for both of us. Unfortunately, my spouse's anxiety was significantly triggered, resulting in an anxiety attack that further exacerbated the distressing situation.
Additionally, the front desk attendant's slovenly demeanor and lack of empathy only added to the distress and discomfort we experienced during our encounter.
To make matters worse, we later discovered that the Intercontinental Hotel not only offered superior accommodations but was also cheaper by $200. This stark contrast in both price and quality only highlighted the utter disappointment and regret of choosing Americas Best Value Inn.
In conclusion, our encounter with the unethical practices at Americas Best Value Inn not only led to a terrible experience but also had severe consequences for my spouse's anxiety. We strongly advise against staying at this establishment, as they clearly lack the sensitivity and professionalism required to provide a safe and pleasant...
Read moreI arrived and asked to check in early. The clerk actually yelled at me! I was in shock. He immediately suggested I might want to cancel my reservation, which was made through a third party. I told him it was not possible, since we booked it that morning. We would lose both days. But he would not even let me finish saying what I was saying. And he was arguing with me that I did not know what I was talking about. It was crazy! I finally got him to calm down. I ended up apologizing just to get things to a normal state. Everything was on track again for staying. I agreed to wait two hours until the check in time. I came back and another man was there. He asked for a credit card. I had never been asked for a credit card at a hotel in my life, though I know many have this policy. I told him that I had not been told by his clerk earlier I would need a credit card to check in. This man immediately refused my reservation, though I presented a credit card. It was weird, like from a Twighlight Zone. My theory is that either they were discriminating against me, because I was a white, bald male (They were Indian, along with everyone on staff - obvious discrimination!), or they were trying to weed out those who booked online where there is a fee paid by the hotel to the sites. Perhaps they were getting too many walk-ins and not enough rooms. I would NEVER stay...
Read moreFilthy is an understatement! I'm surprised people are saying the rooms are clean because they definitely aren't. We tried to open the door to our room and wouldn't work, finally got help from front office they opened it with a master key and said wait 15 min it'll work then. As soon as we entered the room we were hit with a horrible smell, I couldn't stand it and tried opening the window but there was no screen.
I went to the office to let them know our room was missing screen plus it smelled and they moved us upstairs to another room and again keys didn't work, and same horrible smell like the other room also this one had carpet which looked dirty. My nose was burning from whatever was causing the smell, almost like urine mixed with the air freshener plugged to the wall, not to mention the mattresses were stained and looked old.
Seems like they tried remodeling the place but forgot to replace mattresses. The grounds are also very dirty! We decided not to stay, and immediately turned in our keys. Don't let the pictures fool you! We we're attending a concert and wanted to spend the night close by since we would be tiered but decided to drive back home once it was over. I must say the young man at the front desk was very...
