Firstly, donât confuse this with âAmericaâs Best Value Innâ across the road⊠I booked from Booking.com and genuinely thought Iâd booked the other, my own mistake, but given this is call âAmericaâs Value Innâ just make sure you drop the âBestâ.||||Rooms: The rooms were old but good, comfortable double beds, great on demand tv selection for when the jet-lag is keeping you up! They were spacious although a little dimly lit, the bathroom was a decent size and although the shower was old and didnât get the best spray it was absolutely fine for what we needed. I would absolutely stay again.||||Location: I found this fine, it was less than a 10 minute walk to the Hollywood/Western metro line, there is a 7/11 just around the corner and plenty of buses to connect you. We mainly used UBER to get around and a taxi into central Hollywood/Beverly Hills was less than $5 and to the airport was $15. I liked the location, we walked all the way to the walk of fame one day, stopping off for a Dennyâs half way, it was around a 40 minute walk but we saw a lot. There are plenty of shops, laundromats, liquor stores etc around and loads of places for food. I would absolutely stay in this location again. Especially as when we had a hire car our first few days, the car park was free. ||||My only negative is the staff. Firstly my camera case, holding all my batteries and memory cards went missing from my room. I didnât alert the hotel, it wasnât worth it and Iâm not ready to get anybody fired over something that could have been a mistake, but irrelevant to that, my property went missing. We also were extremely disappointed when asking if we could leave our bags after check out for 1.5 hours that they would charge us $20. This is almost the same amount we paid for a room! The check in desk was rude, did not want to help us and just thought up a price to hold the bags. We ended up paying $10 but I have never been to a hotel that once checked out had such little care for you, we were polite and just wanted our bags held so we could get some lunch before going to the airport. Even in London you pay ÂŁ1 a bag, but $20 was just extortionate and was thought up on the spot. Having this right at check out put a dampener on my experience at the hotel which I had previously thought of as cheap and cheerful. But other than this, great place to stay and...

Read moreValue Inn is a rundown motor inn in a sketchy part of Hollywood known as Little Armenia. ||||The lobby...make that the check in area that's a little bigger than a phone booth---is the first tip off --- the clerk is behind glass. The rooms are small and dank. My bedding was fairly clean and the bed was adequate (with the ubiquitous ugly striped bedspread that all the low end motels use) but the safety lock on my door didn't work, which was a drag. The bathroom was also dank and both the sink and the bathtub drained slowly (nothing like showering in dirty water!). Parking is free but there's not enough parking spaces for the amount of rooms they have. If you're outta luck with no room for your car you have to park on the metered street. Also, there's no coffee maker in the room, just a fridge, and there's no coffee in the "lobby". Good luck finding any nearby. This part of Sunset Blvd is pretty bleak. ||||I only paid $80 for the room so I didn't feel ripped off but, by the same token. I paid the same amount for a much nicer room at the Court Yard Motel is Studio City two days earlier. I'll stay there next time, even if I have to pay a...
