Ordered medium size Fried Chicken Gangjeong Sweet and Spicy, medium size Assorted Tempura, small Skewered Fish Cake, and small Tteokbokki. This was probably enough for 3-4 people. Ordered to-go. The Chicken was crunchy outside and had firm white meat inside. The sweet and spicy sauce is a great choice for the chicken, not too spicy and not heavily doused, coated the right amount on the chicken. The Assorted Tempura is a mix of fried foods; seaweed roll, dumpling, squid, and shrimp. These were a plentiful portion for medium with a good mix of each type of tempura. The fish cakes were chewy and flavorful from the broth soup, there were three large fish cakes in the small order. And the small tteokbokki had delicious chewy rice cakes coated in a spicy sweet sauce. The spice is stronger than the chicken but still pleasant to enjoy. There is a lot of sauce in the tteokbokki so you can also use the spice sauce as dipping sauce for the assorted tempura which is a great bonus. They have sitdown dining options too with a waiting list. It’s a nice spot for a small or large group of friends to hang. The interior is amusingly decorated with Korean advertisements, wallpaper that replicates Korean homes and neighborhoods. Staff are quick and attentive to assist and take your order. There is some parking in a lot behind the store and very limited street...
Read moreLet’s get right to the point! Found this place on TikTok, and my husband and I decided to check it out. Here’s what we ordered: We started with the fried chicken gangjeong. You can choose your size (small, medium, or large) and flavor (sweet & spicy or soy sauce). We went with a medium sweet & spicy, and it was delicious! The chicken was well-seasoned, super crispy, and came with a bit of tteokbokki on the side. What caught my attention was that the tteokbokki was fried — something I’ve never tried before! I personally prefer it soft, but my husband loved the crispy texture. Next, we ordered the tteokbokki with noodles (about a $2.49 add-on). Definitely worth it! The tteokbokki itself was cooked well, though my husband didn’t love the soft texture — he would’ve preferred a crispy option if it were available. One thing we both agreed on was that the dish had a little too much sauce. It was flavorful, but a better balance between the noodles, tteokbokki, and sauce would make it perfect. I also wish it had a bit more spice! If we had to pick favorites: my husband’s was the fried chicken gangjeong, and mine was the tteokbokki with noodles (just with less sauce and more kick!). Overall, the atmosphere was chill, the restaurant was clean, service was quick, and the staff was friendly. Prices are great too! We’ll definitely be...
Read moreI was excited to go on a friend’s recommendation, however was disappointed by the rude wait staff. The cash register attendant made me feel extremely unwelcome while ordering and almost like a nuisance for not immediately knowing what i wanted (there was no line and it was also my first time there).
Despite that, I ate inside to experience the cute dishes and interior space. I gave the atmosphere a 4, while very lovely, my table was dirty as well as the soup bowls that came on the side.
For food, I ordered the tteokbokki and fish cakes. I don’t know if it was the consistent glares and eye rolls I received from the register attendant, but unfortunately my food also tasted subpar.
The benefit of the doubt in this situation is the food is literally 5 dollars or dirt cheap. I wasn’t expecting the place to be grand but at the bare minimum I was expecting to be treated like a regular guest. I don’t feel like I deserved any of the unwarranted behavior and i’m writing this review so that the business...
