Racist cashier. As someone picking up food for delivery, you would think the eyerolls and dirty looks would not be required as part of business. First of all thank you to the gentleman at the computer at the front table who welcomed me with a warm smile and told me the order was not yet ready. Thank You for the code to the restroom and the kindness. As for the woman packing the food, I did not get your name but the cashiers ticket said Pegah, the moment I walked in you rolled your eyes and had an attitude, despite me smiling and attempting common courtesy and decency. There were no other customers in the restaurant so the direct eye contact showed me your atttention was on me and your intention was to make me feel unwelcomed. No worries, I would not trust your hateful spirit with my food so I will not be patronizing your restaurant. I was there in service as a third party delivery driver to pick up food and deliver it to a customer. After using the restrooms which are very clean and cool might I add, I walked out and smiled again and the gentleman smiled and told me the order was ready. I smiled and said thank you. The woman scowling looks at me annoyed and holds the bag tightly as I confirm then she still acts suspicious. I grab the bag by the handle gently but at this point I am out if patience for her obviously racist actions. I repeat I confirmed the order as she watches me like a hawk, to which she says oh I didn't see the name, despite me having said it over 3x and shown the other gentleman. After you confirm the order the restaurant name disappears and a map shows up to your next destination, not the name. I have 3 orders to pick up so its only showing the next order. I show a list of names and say "look i have 3 orders it's not going to show up the same way but here is the name Samir. I take the bag and tell her I'm not going to steal the food, and yes I say it clearly and without humor. It is not ok to treat delivery drivers this way, in fact, it is unacceptable to treat anyone that way. Racism and anti-blackness is not profitable in case you haven't heard, nor is it acceptable. Black people are not required to accept disrespectful treatment, nor to bow to your disdain and beg for your approval. We are human beings who deserve the same respect as anyone else walking through your doors. I hope one day the unkind employee learns how to treat everyone with respect, no matter their race. I hope you change for the better and the hatred leaves your...
Read moreA Promising Start with Room for Improvement!!! But slightly Disappointed!
Recently, I had the pleasure of dining at a new Persian restaurant under fresh management. While the overall experience was enjoyable, there are a few points worth noting.
The Positives: The food quality has certainly improved compared to the previous management. The flavors are authentic, and the dishes are well-prepared. The newly redecorated atmosphere is both clean and inviting, creating a nice setting for a meal. The staff deserves a special mention for their warmth and attentiveness, which added a lot to the experience.
Room for Improvement: The portions, however, left something to be desired. Compared to other reputable Persian restaurants, the serving sizes were moderate to small, which felt disproportionate to the prices. I spent close to $120 for a stew dish, a combo kebab dish, two teas, and a bottle of water. For lunch, that's a significant cost, and unfortunately, the portions weren’t enough to justify it.
As someone who knows the industry and values customer satisfaction, I couldn't help but feel that small adjustments—slightly larger portions and more affordable pricing—would go a long way. The cost difference in offering a bit more rice or meat is negligible but could make diners feel they're getting better value for their money.
Final Thoughts: Despite leaving a bit hungry, I will return because of the excellent service and delicious food. I genuinely want this restaurant to succeed, as it fills a void in the area for Persian cuisine. However, I hope the new owners take feedback to heart and make these small changes. It would be a shame if locals, many of whom have been eagerly awaiting a restaurant like this, decided to go elsewhere due to a perceived lack of value.
With minor tweaks, this restaurant has the potential to thrive and build a loyal customer base. I wish the new management great success and look forward to seeing how...
