I ordered a regular white chocolate latte in almond milk and blueberry muffin. The cashier repeated my order and my total came out to $10.01. I kept waiting for my order to be called and after observing a cup that has been sitting on the counter awhile I asked the barista nicely “Is this white chocolate latte in almond milk?” The barista looked at me dead in the eye and repeated an order number. I mentioned that I wasn’t given an order number or a receipt. Then with an attitude the barista replied with “This is cafe latte in almond milk. If you want white chocolate latte you need to pay $1 more.” I went back to the counter and the cashier said “Sorry, I heard caffe latte”. This is when I got so annoyed because she literally repeated my order so I know she heard me right. Also, the caffe latte was $1 LESS, not more!!! To verify this, I went online and made an online order for the same exact order I made at the counter to see what my total would have been. It came to the same amount which means I paid the correct amount for a white chocolate latte and muffin. Soooo, I paid more than $10 for a small coffee and muffin, didn’t get what I paid for, and was asked to pay more so that I can get what I paid for in the first place. UUUUUHHHHH what!!?? I went ahead and just grabbed the incorrect order that was made for me and left. Too damn early for it at 6:45 AM. As I walked toward my gate I thought to myself, “All good, it’s fine”… until I tasted my coffee and realized NOT FINE at all! The caffe latte tasted watered down and I got a stomach discomfort afterwards so not even sure if I actually got almond milk. Garbage for $10. ABSOLUTE WORST overpriced coffee I’ve ever had at any airport I’ve been to. SKIP IT and go to Einstein Bagels just...
Read moreOrdered a coffee, waited patiently for 15-20 minutes, long after the people near me in line had come and gone, and while I was doing so I saw one of the baristas place a clear container of what I assumed to be my drink (because it looked like what I ordered) to the side and it sat there for a good 10 minutes, untouched. After a while, another barista saw it just sitting there and asked the barista who made it about what it was doing just sitting there.
So after waiting for what I deemed long enough, I asked one of the baristas why I had not recieved my drink yet. The barista said “Oh, yeah, they made it but we didn’t have one of the ingredients so I just threw it away.”
I was stunned that I had been standing at the front of the counter for all of that time and no one had informed me or offered a replacement.
The barista then asked me “so do you want your money back or do you want me to make a new drink?” As if it was a chore to do her job properly in the first place. I asked for my money back. I said that it would be a courtesy to make me a drink anyway for making me wait so long for nothing, and the barista snarkily and abruptly said “Yeah I can’t do that.”
Avoid this place at all costs because you probably won’t leave with a drink, let alone one that’s edible, let alone one that you actually ordered. Service is terrible and the drinks probably are too, but of course I...
Read moreThe CBTL owner and management in LAX terminal 5 should be ashamed of themselves. Consistently I see only 2 people working at the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in terminal 5, causing huge lines of customers, that wait and wait with dozens and dozens of people waiting at any given times! This morning at 5:30am I stepped in the long line and I did not receive my coffee americano with coconut milk until 6:05am!!! Really??? 35 minutes for a coffee!!! This CBTL gives horrible customer service. The employees are over worked, and the owner sees his audience and guest as a captive customer who doesn’t have other coffee options in the terminal 5, so they continuously over work their two employees and make ALL their customers wait, wait, wait for service. It’s appalling! Dunkin’ Donuts in terminal 4 and Starbucks in terminal 4 always provide excellent service and have 4-8 employees providing great service. The wait time is never longer than 5-10 minutes even when the terminal is very busy. Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf in terminal 5 needs serious intervention and the terminal needs another coffee shop ASAP to give competition and ultimately force CBTL to provide better service, unless they prefer losing business. I am certain this location, is making customers overall not want to go to a CBTL in other locations, I know for certain it’s making me lose...
