if you are looking for a quick bite before boarding or transferring, pick another option. also, the prices are $$$$ for premade items. sure, it is located in an airport terminal - but $11 for HALF a sandwich? definitely misread the menu 🤣.
we had an hour before our flight and the husband and i waited at least 15+ minutes for our order of 3 items: half a sandwich ($11), a blended green tea with almond milk (no boba) - $6.20, and a bacon quiche ($13).
initially the husband noted that there weren't any bacon quiches in the displays, but when he placed the order, there was no mention of the unavailability of quiche. he found out 15 minutes later (when they still hadn't called my name for our order) that they indeed did not have quiche.
hang on to your receipt! he had to show them that we were charged for the $13 bacon quiche. waiting for a server to resolve it was easily another 5+ minutes as it seemed no server wanted to assist any customers with questions?!? to compensate for the lack of bacon quiche, they did give him a full sandwich of his choosing (straight from the display case into a container - unwarmed).
fyi, they will call your name for the items you ordered several times as they complete each order item.
i was excited to see this Urth Caffé location in the terminal as i do love my Urth Caffé. have been a patron over the last 10+ years frequenting the Santa Monica location, the Beverly Hills location, the Pasadena location -- will not be ordering food from this location again other than maybe desserts or drinks as it clearly misrepresents the Urth Caffé service that i know from the brick & mortar locations.
the sandwiches are pre-made at this location (understandably so as it's in an airport terminal and should have quick service) - but it wasn't quick service, it was non-communicative and...
Read moreAs a huge fan of Urth Caffe's Santa Monica location, I was thrilled to discover their LAX outpost near Gate 9. It was a lifesaver during my recent layover, offering a much-needed escape from the usual airport frenzy.
Sure, there might be a long line (LAX, after all!), but that just gave me more time to delve into their extensive menu of coffees, teas, and tempting treats. While waiting, I couldn't resist browsing the selection of adorable Urth Caffe merchandise – the perfect last-minute souvenir for friends and family back home.
The spacious seating area was a welcome sight. Unlike some cramped airport cafes, Urth Caffe LAX offered ample space to relax and enjoy my beverage. Whether you prefer a comfy armchair or a table for spreading out, they've got you covered.
And then, there's the coffee. My usual breve latte was a delicious reminder of the quality Urth Caffe consistently delivers. The rich, smooth taste was exactly what I needed to perk up before my flight.
Now, let's be honest - airport prices can be brutal. Urth Caffe isn't immune, but considering the quality of the coffee, the comfortable ambiance, and the convenience of location, I found the price point justified.
Overall, Urth Caffe LAX was a delightful surprise. It offered a much-needed oasis of calm, delicious coffee, and friendly service amidst the usual LAX hustle and...
Read moreIf they are affiliated with the West Hollywood location, then I am sorely disappointed. Over-priced and poor customer service. I wanted a Chicken Curry salad instead of the sandwich, which was not on the menu. The Asian server/ bartender (who barely spoke English) said she could make this happen. She came back out with an Urth Caffe salad, something completely different from my Chicken Curry salad request ... she even handed me the salad knowing it was wrong and walked away. The salads are two completely different ones and I've had the Chicken Curry numerous times at the West Hollywood location. I called her over and she asked me if it was okay to put two scoops of the chicken curry on top of this wrong salad. I said I was fine ... thinking it was her mistake and she would not charge me extra (not to mention that I did not want to waste a whole salad or food). Well, this server charged me an additional $6.00 for her mistake. How is this right?? I even confronted her and she had nothing to say. People need to be called out for their lack attention or their mistakes and have the customer pay for it. She acted like everything was alright after I explained my disappointment. I will definitely skip this place next time when...
