I LOVE Verve! This location in particular is also one of my favorites out of all of them!

This Verve is located in a very centralized area, right in the middle of Los Angeles, and is a great spot to come and relax and study for the day! The even have a small parking lot, although it’s usually full, but I’m usually able to find street parking relatively nearby.

The service at Verve is always magnificent, the staff is so friendly and helpful, and will help explain the different teas, coffees, and pastries, and offer their recommendations. I’ve loved everything that I’ve had here so far! The blueberry tea loaf was delicious, as was the mocha and the green tea! I recommend getting some honey with your tea, they put it in a cute little pitcher, so you can pour in what you want, as needed! Great service, wonderful drinks! The mochas here are also absolutely incredible, and by far one of my favorites out of any, anywhere. So rich and creamy and yummy, especially with the whip cream on the top!

The place is usually very full, and people like to come to work and study while sipping tea or coffee, but I’m still usually able to find a spot with ease. My favorite sitting spot is on the side that has the seating against the walls with cushions, very comfy and cozy. There’s ample counter seating as well, though.

Verve Coffee on 3rd Street is one of those rare spots that manages to feel like both a destination and a neighborhood staple. The space is airy and modern but still somehow warm, with great natural light that makes it perfect for a solo recharge, catching up with a friend, or pretending to work on your laptop while people-watching. It walks that fine LA line between laid-back and design-forward—and nails it.

Coffee is the main event here, and they do it seriously well. Whether it’s a classic cappuccino (perfect foam, beautifully pulled shot), or one of their seasonal signature drinks—always interesting without being overly gimmicky—everything is crafted with care. Beans are roasted in-house and have that clean, nuanced Verve flavor profile that balances clarity with just enough richness. If you’re into pour-overs or single origin espressos, this is a go-to spot.

The staff is cool in the best sense—never cold, always knowledgeable, and happy to talk through beans or prep styles if you’re curious. Their pastries and light bites lean toward the higher-end coffee shop fare—think kouign-amanns, avocado toast that actually delivers, and a few rotating fresh options.

Parking, like anywhere on 3rd, can be annoying, but Verve’s vibe makes it worth the extra block walk. Bonus points for their shady outdoor patio—rare and ideal on a warm day. All in all, this is one of the stronger West LA cafes for people who care about coffee and atmosphere in...

Customer service is not the best sad to say because I do enjoy this shop. Last time I was in I ordered a chocolate croissant and a coffee. The guy seemed frazzled and couldn’t remember my order, which he admitted. I got to work and realized it was a regular croissant. I went in today and ordered the same thing. I asked the guy to please kindly make sure it’s chocolate this time because last time they gave me something I did not order. Normal customer service to me would be oh no, I’m so sorry or let me Comp this one for you today. No such luck not even an I’m sorry let me make this right for you. He just ignored my statement. As I’m waiting for my coffee he proceeds to give me a coffee with no top and no straw when I asked him for both he just pointed.
