Let me preface this by pointing out that I've been getting Brazilian blowouts/keratin treatments for over 7 years with minimal problems.
My friend recommended me this place to get the branded Brazilian blowout, which is what they carry. She said it's the best! And I will admit my hair looked AMAZING after my first treatment here. It lasted 3 months just like they said, so I returned like clockwork for a successive treatment.
I want to point out that when I've had this treatment done at other salons in the past, they apply the solution in small sections and use a tinting brush to focus the solution on the hair and avoid the scalp. Here, the stylist slathered it on like conditioner in very large sections, even rubbing it into my scalp.
My treatment proceeded as usual and my hair looked amazing as usual. You're supposed to wash your hair after 24 hours so I went to bed and when I woke up, the excess product was encrusted on my scalp and felt like scabs! I tried to flake it off but there was so much and it really hurt.
I waited for the salon to open to call them, and they just advised to wash my hair (no apology either!), which I did. The treatment took and my hair looked great, but noticed a lot of hair fall. Now, a month and a half later my hair is severely thinning and my hairline is receding all the way around! It's very smooth and the excess exposure to the solution on my scalp must have damaged my hair follicles!
My hair has always been super thick and unmanageable which is why I turned to to these treatments. Now I'll be lucky if I have any hair left on my head. The worst part is that I paid to have a professional do this to me! And now I'm going to have to pay more to figure out how to repair my hair (if it's even possible).
I just wanted to post this as a warning. These are serious chemicals being used and they shouldn't be applied carelessly. I think when used appropriately it can be fine, but beware ending up balding like me!
Also I've reached out directly to the owner Roy. He's completely denied responsibility, citing that hair treatments cannot cause hair loss, which is absolutely not true, especially if it was left on the scalp. I have tried to coordinate going into the salon for my hair to by evaluated in person but my follow up calls have not...

After most of my life rocking my curls they have changed recently and just don't look nice- very frizzy and not forming together despite a lot of product experimentation. I am very conscious of chemical exposure and after asking calling the receptionist here, she told me they also use a product called Lionesse Lux which is formaldehyde free. It is twice the price of their standard keratin treatment but for me it is worth it. Roy was my stylist and the took the time to ask about my hair goals in order to customize my treatment. I didn't want stick strait hair but more of an "effortless french girl wave." He also explained that this treatment is more permanent than the other ones as it penetrates the hair deeper but I decided to take the risk. The results are astonishing- my hair has never felt smoother and I have the perfect wave now that I could never even achieve with the flat iron because my hair always wanted to puff despite the products and heat I applied. I can now wash my hair and air dry without even blow drying my bangs and it looks fantastic....
Read moreI went in anticipating a special treat. But as soon as I informed the hair dresser that getting a blowout was a wonderful gift and something I could never usually afford to do for myself, she tuned me out. As she was brushing my hair out after washing it, I watched her break some of my hair off instead of detangling it, she stopped talking to me, and when she asked me if I wanted a haircut and I said yes, a slight trim, she waved her scissors around my head a couple times. Then as I was paying at the counter, she left. I turned to tip her and she was gone She happened to come back in to get her car keys and I handed her a $40 tip hoping to show that just because someone can't normally afford this service doesn't mean she is going to get stiffed. I was going to tip a lot more but I was turned off by her attitude. I bought one bottle of product because she rushed me, dismissively, through trying to look all that was offered.
I am decently happy with the results but was disappointed that I missed out on a fancy fun...
