THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE Experience I've ever had. On my way to my doctors appointment, I wanted to stop by Vito's pizza to buy and drop off a whole pizza for my family. We usually order large delivery orders from Vito's and like their pizzas. But I will never order anything from them again! My in-person experience was very unpleasant.

As I walked-in, no one greeted me. There were two cooks and another employee behind the counter. I patiently waited for a while for anyone to acknowledge me than I said "hello" to get their attention.

The employees looked very unhappy and looked like as they didnt want to be there at all. Person who came to take my order, did not even bother to look at me as he was saying I"'ll be right with you", nor did he bother to do it even when he was taking my order.

I've asked how long it would take if I placed the order and placed my order. I paid it with the credit card that I usually keep it in the car for gas expenses. However, there was a problem with the payment. It only took $21.69 out of $26.28 total. The balance of $4.59 still needed to be paid. I've told him that I was go to bring my wallet from the car.

Unfortunately my wallet was not in my purse (dont carry it since I walk with a cain), so I came back and ask him to cancel the order. He told me that he would have to ask his manager to do it later. His mannerism was very dimissive and his attitude was terrible. I've just had enough of his mistreetment as is, so I insisted to get my refund before I left. I've asked him to call the manager when his frustration and attitude got the good out of him. He said he was busy, he couldn't do that right now and continued to disregard me in a disrespectful way. I demanded to talk to the manager and he had the nerve to tell me that I was being ridiculous. Did he not only cross every boundary between an establishment and a customer, but he crossed every boundary between two human!

Thus I told him that I will call the police since he is not making any effort to give my money back (it is never about the money, I'm sure you know) and dieled the number. Only then he immediately called his manager and took care of it within couple of minutes. WOW!

It was as simple as that, but he was not going provide the customer service that he was hired to do, he was not doing his job properly, not only that he was not happy himself. Too bed that Vito's pizza is going to lose a well paying long-time customer (online orders mainly). I hope that $4.59 was worth the trouble.

I want to end my review by underlining the fact that it is never about the money, it is about respecting another human being and treating them right! Thanks...

When we tried Vito’s, we ordered a half wild mushroom & half pesto, at the suggestion of a nice lady named Grace. I also got a bowl of minestrone soup, which was supposed to be homemade. What we got was three slices of wild, mushroom & 5 slices of the (cheaper) pesto. Apparently the cook flunked geometry? I know some people enjoy the char, however when it’s completely black, it’s not enjoyable. Not to mention big burnt bubbles. I wouldn’t have bothered to complain, (although we were disappointed) The last straw came when the $10. Minestrone was 95% salt water/tomato juice, & a few spoonfuls of beans at the bottom. I even poured the soup into a Pyrex cup to separate the liquid from the solid & my suspicion was correct! I am including photo documentation where you can see the burnt pizza& the minestrone soup. The last picture of minestrone soup comes from Marie’s Italian restaurant.. I just wanted to show what REAL homemade minestrone should look like. Now, I never would’ve posted this review, I took the pictures because I wanted to show the manager so they could troubleshoot. I called & was told the manager was Grace. I left a number and she would call me back. No call back. I called again the next day & Grace answered the phone. She was very rude and hasty, however explained she was swamped & would call me back. Never did. So, I wanted to give her the benefit of a doubt, so I called again the next day. Left number. No call back. I almost wish Grace would’ve told me that she was not gonna call me back instead of pretending! Becz she had no intention of calling me back! I do have to say that the small percentage of pizza that we did get (that wasn’t burnt) was good. But Paying $55 for 4 pieces of pizza is not worth it. Mistakes happen, but having management that has no concerns for the happiness of the customer? I’d go...

After living in New York for a while, I had no idea how much I was going to miss their pizza and how bad California is at making NY-style pizza. I've traveled all over Southern California trying the pizza of many different mediocre places that claimed to serve NY-style pizza to no avail. Eventually I just gave up and stopped looking, realizing that if I ever wanted to have NY-style pizza again I would have to move back to New York or vacation there until a fellow New Yorker told me about this place and encouraged me to try it, promising that Vito's Pizza is different. I was initially reluctant, having already given up on finding a pizza place anywhere in Southern California that tastes close to home, but he talked me into it and I decided to give Vito's a try. This pizzeria did not disappoint. I ordered a slice first, just to try it and I ended up taking a large box home. This pizzeria promises NY-style pizza and it sure delivers! The pizza is so cheesy with a delicious and perfect amount of tomato sauce and a thin, crusty sauce. The service is also excellent. I wouldn't change anything about it. For any New York transplants living in L.A., this place is a must-try so definitely stop by sometime! You...

****Unfortunately I have to update my review. My 10 year relationship with Vitos has sadly come to an end. Two weeks ago, I ordered a pizza pie for my family and after eating it, we all had gastrointestinal issues (I'll spare you the details). Not sure if bad batch of dough or cheese or sauce or someone didn't wash their hands after using the restroom or what but we were sick that night! I called and asked for the manager but was told she "Grace" wasn't in. I let the restaurant know that we became sick so they could check on everything and I also left my name and number for the mgr to call me back. Three days went by and nothing. I called again. Nothing. That was two weeks ago. I now have an aversion and will not eat there again. Either they didn't pass the two messages onto the manager or they did and she blew my messages off. Either way I'm good. I'll find a different New York pizza spot :/ I'm a New Yorker (born and raised on Long Island and partially Brooklyn) and this place is truly authentic New York pizza! Wow!!!🤗

If you’re coming to Los Angeles from New York in search of Italian food, you’re almost guaranteed some disappointment. That said, Vito’s Pizza in West Hollywood is one of the better “hole-in-the-wall” pizzerias the city has to offer. I just tried their calzone, and here’s my main gripe: a calzone should not feel like a loaf of bread with a tiny pocket of filling shoved in one corner. The crust ought to be no thicker than that of a pizza, and the ingredients—not the dough—should be the star of the show. From the picture I took, you’ll see what I mean. On the plus side, the price is fair, the flavor is solid, and I actually really enjoy the atmosphere—there’s a great old-school smell when you walk through the door. But if they added even 30% more filling, these calzones would easily be five-star worthy. So, should you come here? Yes. Just don’t expect to be blown away.
