Step into the vibrant world of Yasiknara in Koreatown, where K-pop melodies fill the air and spice levels are not for the faint-heartedโwatch out for level 2, it's a fiery ride! ๐ถ๏ธ๐ถ
When the grilled sweet soy sauce squid legs make their grand entrance, it's a visual feast that's almost too good to eat. Our server performs a magical act, transforming the whole squid into bite-sized pieces at your table. The texture? Oh, it's firm perfection! ๐ฆ
The Stir-Fried Baby Octopus brings a spicy symphony of flavors that'll dance on your taste buds. Dive into the saucy goodness and dip everything in it or pile it onto a bed of white rice for a flavor explosion that's just soooo satisfying! My only wish? Those baby octopus pieces could've been a touch bigger. The server mixes in the bean sprouts into the bowl at your table. This would have been great with a bowl of rice.
And don't miss out on the Korean Potato Pancake โ a crispy yet tender creation that's a true ode to Korean cuisine. The Cheese Corn is a cheesy concoction that you definitely have to get!
Surprises abound with the Galbi Skewersโthey're like mini meaty flavor bombs on sticks, a departure from the classic short ribs. While not what I expected, they still bring a burst of umami goodness. But fear not, because the Stir-Fried Bulgogi and the crunchy Korean-style Chicken, drenched in savory soy sauce, come to the rescue! These two delights deliver on the promise of deliciousness that you came for. ๐๐๐
So, if you're looking for a rollercoaster of flavors and a journey into the heart of Koreatown's culinary treasures, Yasiknara is the place to be. Spice, sizzle, and a symphony of...
ย ย ย Read moreSpicy LEVEL 2 IS THE EQUIVALENT OF buldak's HOT CHICKEN NOODLE SAUCE SO ORDER WITH CAUTION
For the most recent time, we got: spicy chicken feet (level 3.5), Seasoned Pork Hocks W. Chilled Vegetables ้ ฑ็ช่, and spicy stirred fried rice cakes (1.5), order based on their level of impressiveness.
The chicken feet definitely deserves the hype. The sauce got great depth and was packed with well developed flavors despite being almost deadly spicy. The pork hock dish was refreshing, could be considered as the best salad I've ever had. Considering the content... A tad too expensive for its price. The rice cake could use a lot more stewing time.
Service was... Ngl, pretty bad :) somehow all waiters forgot to give us any water or additional bowls for sharing until I walked up to them.
The atmosphere... Ughh the NEVER ENDING KPOP STREAMS. It was so LOUD!! We were surrounded by giant tv screens with heavily sexualized teens dancing seductively to... I'm sorry, mostly bad music. Not sure where to look at, can't close our ears off, and conversations often get interrupted by random noises from the "songs".
Having been here several times, I know that some dishes were truly amazing and will always return for flavors, I just wish that literally all other aspects could be as loveable as the food offered.
Well... just for flavors, this place definitely deserves better than the current 3.6. and if you love...
ย ย ย Read moreFood is very โrandomโ and the service is horrible especially when they are charging us an automatic gratuity. The server explicitly refused to cut the whole pancake into slices so we, a group of six, can share this pancake decently. After we requested this repeatedly, the server finally yielded. He grabbed a pair of chopsticks, tore the pancake into pieces, and dropped his masterpiece on the table like he was feeding six gorillas in the zoo. This is the first time we ate at a restaurant, spent $45+ per person, and got treated like we owe this restaurant montage payment. Oh, I forgot to mention, guess how much tip they charged in the end? Hint: Itโs definitely something they donโt deserve. Speaking of food, we requested level one spicy. All dishes came out at a different spicy level. Some dishes were not spicy at all and some wanted you to fire in the hole. Whoever cooked our dishes were maximizing his/her creativity when adding chillies but minimizing focus on what customers requested. And I must give points to the restaurant for being consistent on neglecting customers needs, saving me time when writing this review by not having to praise at least someone in...
