We picked The Galt House at random because it was near Louisville Slugger and the Muhammad Ali Museum, and were initially disappointed when Walker's Exchange was closed for lunch. We waited about 15 minutes for Jersey Silks to open, and were worried about the limited lunch menu. But from the second we walked in the door, Angie made us feel like VIPs, she recommended food and drinks, helped us choose our bourbon flights, talked to us like we were old friends, and just made this an amazingly positive experience for us. We had the Down the Rabbit Hole flight (Angie's recommendation, and what ended up being our favorite) and the Make Me a Maker's flight. Both were amazing, well portioned, and amazing selections for a full tasting of these distilleries. (Because of COVID, many of these tastings inside the distilleries were closed, and Angie helped make up for that by helping us with these flights). We're from Missouri, and Angie was genuinely interested in us, our trip, where else we had been, and in what she could do to help make it a great day for us. All the food was amazing - but the truffle fries were truly the standout, they are a must-order. I HIGHLY recommend this establishment, especially if Angie is working, and especially if you are unable to visit the distillers themselves, Angie can help make that feeling come to life.

I’m not sure why this place won a sizzler? Visiting from Nashville. I honestly love Louisville. Birthplace of true spirits. However, this place is dark, uninviting and staff doesn’t know you even walked in until you flag someone down. They have an extensive cocktail list that I was ready to get down on and went through 3 choices that couldn’t be made as the bartender either didn’t know how or “don’t have the ingredients for”. Settled on the Lady D and it’s terrible. At the bar because our first two seat choices nobody visited us for service. At the bar it was dirty, unkept; and leftover lunch was the only constant (see pic) Order a salmon salad and I supposed they had to catch the salmon because 1 hour later they forgot my change of cheese choice. Hubby ordered pizza, don’t bother this is NOT their speciality unless you like a burnt bottom. If all the choices I found on trip advisor this one should be removed. If you decide to go, take one advice, Debra was our bar servicer; barely greeted, cursed at the “rush crowd” kept asking how to mix drinks without the ingredients and complained the entire time. Urgh! I wish I wasn’t so hungry, had parked and was committed at this point to eating….just paid for the food and left

Excellent food and an excellent selection of bourbon. There are other places downtown that have a bigger selection of bourbon, it is kentucky afterall, but it gets kinda silly after a certain amount. They definitely have one for every pallet here. Everyone from the waitstaff to the bartenders was super friendly and helpful. They were even willing to give recommendations on other area bars they would suggest trying. The prices aren't outrageous either, although there are some high priced bourbons there. The plus side is that I got to taste some bourbon that I can't get here in Colorado, but you bet I'll be asking my local liquor store if they can get some.of them. The fried green tomatoes are delicious and definitely worth trying.

The down and dirty overall review based on the 5 star system is NOT good! Food Quality: 1 out of 5 Wait for food: 1 out of 5 Drink(s) quality: 3 out of 5 Personality of server: 4 out of 5 Pricing: 3 out of 5 Feel/vibe of the bar: 5 out of 5

Overall rating: 2 out of 5 However, we gave them a 1 out of 5 since the wait for the food was so long and food quality was TERRIBLE.

Would we return? Absolutely not since there are SO many other great choices from the fine city of Louisville.

Here's more if you are still here:

Like other reviewers, parked the car and went into this cool looking bar based on reviews... really cool looking place with music playing and a "feel good atmosphere." Were handed two paper menus (which is fine), one was old with older pricing and the other was all beat up...

Ordered drinks and took a while to receive and were nothing to write home about. Looked interesting on the menu and the writeup but not so good when we received them.

Ordered salad and pizza since we only had 1 hour of parking, ended up staying well over 2 hours since the "pizza machine broke" but server didn't tell us about it until about 45 minutes of waiting and seeing other customers being served long after we arrived and ordered.

As I stated earlier, "cool looking" place with a nice feel, comfy chairs and booths, but it pretty much ended there. Server was friendly but could have told us about the pizza issue much sooner, since it ruined our experience. Pizza came and was undercooked and awful.

We gave our server a 20% tip since I guess (I think?) it was not her fault, but she could have done better. Looks like there are new employees hired, so there is a level of ignorance that should have been dealt with sooner. Hope management sees this and does something because even though you may have transient business travelers that may only go once, word travels fast!

Good luck, but I...

I've been to Jockey Silks multiple times and each time it gets a little more disappointing. This last time was the final straw... Had a group of 7 adults that wanted nothing more than a night cap. We stop in, and grab a table. (No greetings, or welcome of any type, and tables were dirty with used drink cups laying around) There were max 10 people in there & It took 15 minutes for the server to even take our drink order. Another 15 for the drinks to come to the table (And we were literally at the table next to the end of the bar)

The bartender calls last call, and I look around for our server. Of course she's nowhere to be found, so I walk to the bar myself. Ordered a White Russian, and he looks at me with conviction and says "Oh, a WHITE Russian?..." I responded with "Oh, i'm sorry, maybe a Caucasian Russian?.... Yes, that's what I want" ... The server finally popped her head in, made sure orders were communicated so I went back to the table. He NEVER made the drinks! Another 10 min and I hear the server yelling, "Are you making their drinks yet or what?...." (Mind you this is literally the week after the presidential election, so this type of behavior in the workplace is quite appalling)

Then when I get the bill it was $220 for a few drinks. 18% gratuity automatically added to the bill.

I bring many business clients, family members, and many associates to the Galt for a reason. But Jockey Silks is removed from our rotation and will never get my...
