First off, let me start by saying I love McAlister's food. I had a situation today where my husband went to the restaurant to pick up food for my pregnant self and him but once he was ready to order, he realized he left his wallet at home. I told him not to leave thinking I could call for carryout to pay over the phone, which was not possible. They don't except payments over the phone but was told I could pay online if I ordered online. I tried to do that and that was a no go. My order went through but I was still unable to pay online. Frustrated I called to talk to the manager to see what we could do since the order was placed and to see if I needed to cancel the order. The manager there, Bill, was very pleasant and understanding and took my card information without hesitation. That to me made my bad day turn around and he went above and beyond for customer service. I'm glad to see McAlister's has great manager's there like Bill. I am very thankful for the service I got and immediately decided to write this review to tell about the great customer service I received. On a side note, does McAlister's ever plan on changing to accept payments over the phone or online? I think that would be great for any situations that could occur where a wallet is left at home or a daughter might be bringing home food for a sick mom that offers to pay but is unable to provide the card for payment in person. You never know the circumstances but I think it would help a lot of people...
Read moreDid an online order for pick up, they had it ready in under 15 mins and everything was right, and this was on a Saturday night when they were fairly busy...so that was good. But I am about done with McCallisters in general, I like their food alot but the value is just not there anymore. The Club is tiny(put the quartered pieces together and you will see how small the whole sandwich is. keeps getting smaller and smaller), and very little meat. For $11, it should be way more substantial. It's a sandwich, you can make one at home, way bigger, for much less lol. For $11, you better be way better than that to entice me to buy a sandwich from you. Lastly, the young black girl working the "To Go" literally never spoke to me during our entire, brief, exchange...not one word lol. No greeting(just stared at me in silence, I almost felt like saying to her "hi, can you help me?"..like a reverse exchange lol), no thank you, not even a "here you go" as she handed me my order. I am white and I notice all young black kids working at places have this hatred and contempt towards white customers...why?! Very sad to see they have been brainwashed to be that way, for no reason. The customer after me was a black lady, and she greeted her and engaged her as you would expect from an...
Read moreI used to go to this one even though it was out of my way because they were pretty good. Well one day, when they brought my food out to me, this particular female employee basically threw my food on the table. And she did not bring something that I has asked for and seemed pretty ticked off but went and got it and threw it on the table again.
The next time I went, same thing. She happened to be the same one to bring me my food and threw it on the table.
Next time, she was the one who took my order and was very rude and threw my change back on the counter and pretty much threw my drink on there as well. Fortunately, a manager brought my food out to me and I let him know that she has been doing that at least three times and he said that they had received other complaints about her and would have a talk with her. I even told the owner who I know and she said that she heard the same.
I am not sure if that employee is still there as I quit going to that location and began going to the Breckenridge Lane location. I have only been back to the Outer Loop location once in the last year. That experience was not bad but I did have a "to go" order.
Overall food is "okay" there but the service...
