Panera Bread — Restaurant in Louisville

Update: I had previously rated this Panera Bread location 5 stars. This was based on several visits, eating breakfast in the store. Since then, I have made orders to go; breakfast, lunch and dinner – so it is not due to a particular time of day or crew. My experience tonight has caused me to change the rating and decide not to waste my time going there again. I ordered a salad for my daughter with additions and subtractions and a bowl of soup and steak and white cheddar panini for myself. Having trouble in the past, I checked to insure that the salad was correct, that there was a bowl of soup and a sandwich with sides. After getting home I found that the Steak and White Cheddar sandwich had NO steak or white cheddar on it. REALLY? A steak and Cheddar Panini with no steak or cheese… So I had to drive back up. The manager refunded the full price of the meal. But I asked the manager if there was a reason why it did not have steak or cheese – he said it was an error. From the other reviews, it appears that these errors happen often, so I do not plan to return to this or any other Panera Bread.

Previous review - Friendly and quick staff. The resturant is is a pleasant place for lunch with friends or to sit and read the news. The menu changes occasionally and is definitely not the same old same old. They have an app to order ahead, if you are in a rush, but the normal wait is not long. They also have a fast...

There’s a difference between stating your goals on your webpage and reality. That’s the case at this Panera.

The order taker was the high point of this visit. After that, the “welcoming environment” deteriorated. I was there just after 2:00 PM. After the lunch rush. The tables were filthy and there was trash all over the floor. In my 45 minutes here, someone only came out just before leaving to wipe off tables. I took care of my own. This may be why the floor is filthy - because folks wipe their own tables and where is the debris going - floor.

I ordered the Classic Grilled Cheese. Although the ingredients were good, there wasn’t any love in the cooking of this sandwich. And no love expressed when I picked up my sandwich. It was undercooked - no toasting whatsoever evident. If you can’t make a grilled cheese sandwich right ?

Panera is a good concept and they have a well thought out menu. They have good ingredients. But this location is dragging the concept through the dirt.

I made an order for a coffee tote to be ready ASAP, received email it will be ready on 6:58 am, then received email that it's ready for pickup on 6:43 am. I arrived at the Cafe on 6:57am for pick up my order but did not find it, the employee gave me coffee cup and told me to help myself, I told her my order said it's ready for a coffee tote, she asked for my name then she said she does not know what I am talking about and no order for my name. Another employee came and asked again for my name and said it looks like the other employee thought it's a cup of coffee so she made it ready on the system and will make it ready now. I had to wait 20 minutes, I got my order on 7:17 am. That caused me to be late to my work. No on apologize at all for this at all. After I received my order, the employee also did not say anything. She just gave me the coffee tote and left without saying have a good day. This is very bad service even though you are located in a good area in the city and expectations to be higher...
