As I write this review, I am devouring my second donut. I just couldnât wait to chime in on my opinion of this tasty bakery and donut shop. This was our first time at Donut Haus and WOW. We have tried several donut shops in 28 states since October of last year and this place has reached our number 2 spot out of the numerous ones we have tried. The number one shop is located in Louisiana and the only reason Donut Haus didnât make our number one spot was due to the temperature of the donut. We tried glazed, chocolate covered and an enormous cinnamon roll with cream cheese icing. For those of you who donât care for cream cheese icing, they will custom make your cinnamon roll if you call ahead! Thatâs an added bonus! Even though they werenât hot-the taste made up for it and they were definitely fresh. If I had a serious issue with the temp, popping it in the microwave for 3-4 seconds wouldâve solved this but it wasnât a biggie. The donuts melted in your mouth with their fluffy texture and the glaze was the perfect mixture of a hint of vanilla and sugar. The chocolate covered donut was delicious and didnât have that âgenericâ chocolate taste that some have. The cinnamon roll...is HUGE. I am not able to finish this masterpiece because I am stuffed. But from what I did try, I am going back for more when my tummy allows this. Customer service was EXCELLENT. The employee working the front register greeted us the second we walked in. She was also very knowledgeable and answered all of my obnoxious questions with a great amount of patience. I am one of those who has to ask, â What is this? Whatâs in that? Have you ever ate it? What does it taste like? Do you like it?â I do not know her name but she iced my cinnamon roll in front of me which I enjoyed (and made me flashback to childhood while watching my Mimi ice hers). Donât pass this place up! You wonât be disappointed and if you are...something is probably wrong with your palate. đ Any negative review this place has received is probably from a rival donut...
Read moreWell, the average reviews on here arenât wrong. Proâs: while the donuts are in no way gourmet, they are pretty tasty and fresh. CONS: Went in for the first time this morning. After reading the reviews we knew to likely expect poor customer service. While no one was overtly rude to us, I can definitely say that the overall attitude of the workers is very poor and act a bit like you are annoying them by simply being there or asking any questions. There were two employees that helped us. One you could tell was trying to be nice and helpful, but truthfully seemed very skiddish, almost like he was afraid to be too nice or helpful, and the other one simply was just not in any way friendly, reluctantly and very flatly answered our few questions almost as if annoyed. She also gave us 1 wrong donut, and missed another from our order that we didnât see until we just got home. We also overheard a transaction next to us where a woman was trying to use what looked like the Apple Pay function from her phone, and the woman helping her very flatly just said, yeah I donât know how to use that and just stared straight ahead.. again, nothing seen or experienced was super rude but as someone whoâs worked in the service/food industry myself, I can say that there is A LOT of room for growth here with the staff and their attitude towards customers. Such a shame as we were really thrilled to support a local business. We may return, but will be double checking our bags and again not expecting to receive any level of quality service. - with the number of other similar reviews, you would truly think that there would be a desire to make changes within this area, but it doesnât seem like thatâs a priority, which again is quite sad to experience at any establishment, let alone...
Read moreI have been a long time customer at the Donut Haus but and received a mix of either great service or horrible service. Today, was post worthy. My 5 year old son had seen their giant customizable donut the last few times we went in and we decided it would be an awesome birthday surprise for him. A few days back we checked on its availability and were told you must order the day before and they would have it done. Tomorrow is my sons birthday and when we went to order they said it is no longer made. We wanted to talk to the manager and see if there was anything that could be done to special order it and we had the pleasure of speaking with Deb. Deb was rude and condescending. When my wife told her the circumstances and pleaded with her to make exception she responded by saying "unless you want to haul yourself down here and decorate a donut, its not going to happen". I am a Loveland native who has gone here for 15 years and I have to say, I am never going to the Donut Haus again and will discourage anyone I know from going there as well.
Response for Clarity: This complaint is less about the lack of a giant donut and more about the lack of customer service displayed by Deb. This is not the first occasion simply the final one. Two months prior Deb was berating one of her employees in front of customers. On another occasion when Deb was forced man the counter while one of her employees was using the bathroom she seemed annoyed to take my children's orders. The issue is not about the donut its about management issues when you let a manager treat employees and customers like this you rot your business from the inside out and ruin a place that was previously one of the most welcoming...
