Wonderful dining experience at The Choice. we were meeting friends from Philly and hoped we could have a leisurely meal and linger a bit with out being rushed out. They made that happen as well as serving an incredible meal.Josh our waiter was friendly, kind, professional and just a pleasure. Each dish was presented beautifully and we loved everything we tried. We started with 4 apps. The scallops wrapped in shredded filo were a wonderful mix of texture and flavor coming together . The lobster ceviche was a lovely presentation and tasty too. A special app tonight was grilled octopus with fingerling potatoes and chorizo- tender octopus and potatoes combined with just the right amount of spice. We also had the beef and foie gras dumplings- just perfect !! For entrees I had the half duck and was able to get it made with a sauce substitute to accommodate me. Had to try the fries because I heard how good they were- did not disappoint. My partner had the rib eye steak - really delicious, cooked to perfection and nicely presented on a big wood cutting board. My one friend had the lobster saute- so delicious and lovely presentation. The other had the potato crusted striped bass. The chef does an equally wonderful job with seafood.meat and poultry. We left a little room for dessert and tried the apple pie, pecan pie, and their version of chocolate lava cake- cleaned our plates ! We dine out alot in Philadelphia but tonight I am so glad we choose The Choice in Bryn Mawr- we will definitely be dining...

Anyhow, we enjoyed our dinner.
The lobster salad was presented beautifully and they split it in the kitchen for us. The dressing was good, but there was only a drop of it. In hindsight, I should have asked for more on the side The lobster pieces were steamed well and tasted good
The lamb chops were seasoned and cooked perfectly. Medium rare. Only 3 for the portion, but it was enough for me. The only thing I didn't like was that they wrapped the legs in something that made them look like casts and it made me feel like I was eating broken legs. I got over that once I tasted it and it was delicious.
The scallops were good. My husband asked for them well done and they didn't come out that way so he asked them to cook it more and they did. It came out again slightly more done but he ate them anyway. He likes them well done to get the caramelization. He said they were very good.
The apple pie was delicious as was the ice cream. They were several flavors that combined to make it super satisfying.
We will definitely be back. Especially like the BYOB aspect and they had nice, big wine glasses to use. Reminder, cash only or you pay 3%...

The prix fixe menu offered a delightful journey through flavors, with every dish thoughtfully crafted and beautifully presented. Among the highlights were the scallops, black cod, and wagyu beef, each a testament to the chef’s artistry and skill. The scallops were perfectly executed, exuding a delicate sweetness, while the black cod melted in the mouth, its richness balanced by subtle seasoning. The wagyu beef was a showstopper, tender and indulgent, leaving us savoring every bite.
As frequent diners at other BYOB establishments, we were pleasantly reminded of Gilmore’s, a beloved spot in West Chester, PA, that closed years ago. The restaurant embodies a similar sense of sophistication and attention to detail that makes the dining experience truly memorable.
Suffice to say, this was not our last visit. With standout dishes and an experience that rivals the best BYOBs we’ve enjoyed, we will definitely return to savor more of what The Choice Restaurant...
