Fiiiiiinally, a pinball kind of place in Lubbock. You'll be lucky to find parking in front of the bar so good luck.
You can kind of treat this like a miniature Museum because if you walked around you is tea part of pinball machines around these walls, some are made into tables and of course there are the actual pinball machines in the back.
No one has said anything so I'm glad I came here and was able to tell you folks but the premium pinball machine prices are $0.75 a play which is totally worth it. There is one pinball machine up in front of that little room the back which is on Freeplay, it is an old pinball machine but works very well. How can you complain about free play?
The waitress or server that I had was very friendly and explaining the drinks and good detail. On a Friday night the pacifico's are $3 which is the equivalent of a Corona, the $3 Ritchie Valens drink which I forgot what it was about, some kind of concoction with vodka and also the Daquiris are $4.
The average crowd is in their twenties so I must have been the oldest person here but that's okay nobody seemed to turn around and judge me will make a smirk.
Put this on your bucket list of bars to try in Lubbock, it really is a treat from your different bars that are around here.
A hard star for the service that I received and an extra star because they have...
Read moreIf you don't like the idea of a hotdog, you're coming to the wrong place. But vegetarians fret not, because they've got options for y'all too. Or maybe you feel like beef and/or pork dogs are boring? Don't worry, they've got more meat options, like venison.
So like I said, if you don't like the idea of a hotdog, you will be disappointed. But this ain't weinerschnitzl y'all. These are not your grandaddy's hot dogs from the baseball park. These hot dogs are full of a new generation of ideas. Vegetarian hot dogs? Venison dogs? Hot dogs topped with a full beef tamale, sour cream, queso, and chili? Maybe you want a surf and turf; a hot dog topped with crawfish? Anything you can dream of is on this menu.
And yes, the mac and cheese is good too.
If you don't come extremely hungry, I recommend splitting with a friend.
Service can be hit and miss in terms of speed, but there is nowhere else like Flippers in Lubbock. Come for the relaxed and fun vibe, stay for the...
Read moreThis has been one of my favorite restaurants in Lubbock for a few years now. In the past 9 months they changed management and while the service is much better, they have changed the menu a lot and taken off some of my favorite items. I am really disappointed about this, as one of my favorite things about Flippers were their many choices of hotdogs, especially the many vegan/vegetarian options they had. They still have these options available, but only for the build your own or as a substitute. They use to have an entire vegan/vegetarian section, and were one of the only places in Lubbock that did. The food and drink are still good, but the experience is always slightly disappointing with some of my favorite items no longer on the menu, not to mention they do not serve Sunday brunch anymore. I hope that they consider adding some of these items back in the future (Kawaii Dog, The Streetz, and Cool Mint), and having a more dedicated section to...
