Mojo Taqueria Lyons — Restaurant in Lyons

We came in today a little before 2 pm hungry after a hike. My dad and I are visiting family that lives in town and we are from Michigan. They have been here before and rave about it. We waited a moment to be seated, we sat outside. The table was never wiped off for us but we sat down anyways. After waiting 15-20 minutes to be acknowledged and the waitress walking past several times, I went in to get 4 WATERS, where I also waited a few minutes for that. We went back to the bar for a few beers. While we were waiting on the beers, the waitress grabbed her phone from the host stand (there were large groups waiting) took her cell phone, and went Into the back to make a call. We went back outside. She continued to walk past us as we brought out our own waters. Then, she came out and acknowledged us! Hallelujah! However, instead of introducing herself to us, she told us it was a 30-45 min wait on food. What a way to start a dining experience. Although we had already picked out what we wanted, we told her never mind, knowing it would likely take even longer.

Very disappointed, as I had heard great things about this place. I would tell other visitors to Lyons to go elsewhere and enjoy...

First timer and definitely was not 100% impressed. The service lacked attention severely. We were checked on twice, as she was rushing back and forth to two other tables besides us (2 top); one 4 top and one other 2 top. Never giving us the opportunity to actually ask for or get something. Dropped the check halfway through eating and said "I'll grab this when you're ready". Not once took the time to stop and engage. The hostess was equally terrible; she handed us our menus and told us where to sit. Hahaha 🤦‍♀️

Cleanliness:The bathrooms are absolutely disgusting. The toilet paper roll mechanism was broken and hanging off the wall on top of the trash can. The floor was so sticky, you could see long pieces of women's hair stuck to the floor. If a bathroom looks like that, I can hardly imagine what the kitchen looks like.

Food: the carnitas and shrimp tacos were absolutely amazing! The boxed rice and charro beans are left to be desired. The charro beans had three beans, all tomato and one piece of small bacon. I literally ate rice with chunks of tomato. Not to mention, all of this was put in a little 3 oz cup.

We sought out Mojo for some quality food and a cool space to refresh with our kiddos after hiking all day. We arrived and were seated immediately and that was about the best thing that happened. The restaurant was extremely muggy/hot and the water we were served was warm. No offering of ice. No utensils or napkins given. We sat for almost 15 mins before anyone came over to serve us - should have been the first clue. Our waiter, who couldn’t be bothered to even tell us his name, was short tempered and rude. Whenever we asked for something he scoffed at us. I asked for a cup of ice and he looked at me like I was trash for wasting his time on asking for a cup of ice. He returned with the ice in a cup and slammed it down on the table and walked away. After dropping off chips and salsa he didn’t bother to return to our table for over 30 mins. 2 other servers brought our food out and refilled our waters. He finally breezed by and quickly asked how food was and rushed off. The food was subpar, quesadilla was good, but tacos dry and average. Not worth the 30 minute wait, sadly. Definitely disappointed in the food but won’t return after...
