We couldn't get enough of this place! Check-in was smooth, and I am 18, so it was one of the few places in the area that actually allowed under-21 check-in. We stayed in the Sequoia, and it was incredibly cozy. We did not feel cramped, and the fireplace would quickly heat up the entire house. The TV had many different streaming services, and the employees left us some coupons to check out local places. The bathroom was equipped with shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel. Lotion, bar soap, and dish soap were also provided. The upstairs we could both comfortably stand in, but for reference, we are 4'11' and 5'7", so not exactly giants, lol. We got a ton of snow during our stay, and the porch was shoveled along with the road plowed. We never had any issues with getting too cold, and the kitchen was well-equipped with everything you need to cook. The shower was small, and the water heater for the shower was confusing. The pressure in the shower was bad, so my boyfriend and I agreed that was probably the worst part. There were many windows to open, and the other tiny houses' views were so cute. The interior had minor wear and tear, but given the price, I felt the damage was expected. If I were paying $100 more a night, sure, I'd be a bit upset. But, regarding the price, I feel like we got a steal deal. Our house had plenty of space, but most of the other tiny houses were super close to each other, so it was just something to note. We never saw any other guests when we stayed, and parking was convenient for our house. Check-out was also easy. My boyfriend and I both said that of all the places we have stayed together, including Airbnbs and hotels, this was our favorite. I am really itching to stay here again and go check out their South Dakota location. I would highly recommend staying here. It is an excellent, unique stay you can't get...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed here last weekend and had a really great time. Honestly if there was a 4.5 star option I would give that. Overall, we had a blast and loved our tiny home.
Pros: It felt like we got to crash a tree house built for grown ups for a weekend. That was awesome. The inside was very clean and the sheets were nice and comfortable. The layout was really unique and the skylight was a cool touch for looking up at the stars. It’s really close to town which is awesome if we come back for a more extended stay. The check-in and check-out process was also easy. We had a ton of fun hanging out in the tiny home, and it was a nice taste of tiny house living.
Cons: The house could use maybe another couple pans for cooking. There were also a couple of things that were broken, like the fold out table that was in all of the photos. They had a flimsy replacement table in the house but it sort of cheapened the room. I wouldn’t complain about this if it didn’t cost me $250 for the night. Additionally, there should be some hot tubs or something, particularly if they’re using the term “resort.” We got a late check-out time of 12pm because it was Valentine’s Day weekend, but the normal check-out time is 10am. That’s a smidge early, honestly, and I think 11am is a more reasonable and widely adopted check-out time.
Most of these are meant to be constructive criticisms and wouldn’t ever prevent us from returning. In summary, we will be back, and we are excited to stay in a different themed tiny home. Definitely check it out as it is one of the more unique getaway experiences available...
Read moreLoved this little oasis. I stayed in The Salida. I wanted to experience staying in a tiny home because I’d like to have a tiny home built for my retirement. The property is quiet but within walking distance of downtown. The owner who checked me in was extremely pleasant and check in/check out was easy. I’m short 5’0 and chunky right now so a couple of things would have been better for me personally. One was the shower head. It was so high on the wall and not downward adjustable enough so the water hit me at my chin/neck and I couldn’t keep my hair dry. (I didn’t bring a shower cap because I normally just clip it up). The other was the staircase to the loft was very narrow and because of my width and shortness it was a stretch to reach the stairs going down while hugging the wall and holding on to the rail. On the way down my derrière would turn on the light to the loft. I had visions of toppling over the side. 😂 I laugh because I made it up and down carefully without incident. It would have been easier for skinnier me. In hindsight I probably could have gone down the stairs easier on my derrière. Tiny homes are what they are designed to be…tiny. It was a lovely place and I would stay again. The only other note is it would be nice to have coverings on the two narrow windows on each side wall at the front. At night while reading anyone outside walking could have a full view of me. There weren’t many people there at the time because school is back in session and I was there Monday-Wednesday nights. All in all I loved the property and the tiny home...
