Boxwood Coffeeshop & Cafe — Restaurant in Mackinac Island

I'll starts with good stuff. So their location is amazing. You can see beautiful green and lake from some of their seats (as you can see in the picture). Their coffee tastes decently good. However, their croissant doesn't even looks like croissant.. And the pre-maid sandwich on their shelf costs $14 :( They didn't even have price tag for almost any of their meal boxes. It would be nice to know the price without asking them. Also we had a bad experience with their staff. When we ordered black coffee, the staff said "cream or milk" but because we thought by just saying "black coffee" was enough it took time for us to realize what the staff was asking. When we were confused what to say for a second, the staff yelled at us and said "CREAM OR MILK?"...I understand that it was frustrating on the busy day but with that kind of attitude you still want us to pay tip...? which we paid anyway. This is my favorite coffee shop on the island. The employees are always friendly, the place is super peaceful and the location is perfect; out of town and on the lake front.

Their drinks are delicious and I love the fact that they have non dairy options.

Not only do they sell coffee and pastries but they also sell on the go snacks, salads and sandwiches. If you forget to grab your water before going around the island this is the perfect place as they sell water and drink opinions. They also have a small alcohol selection which...

Clean and attractive cafe. It's convenient to have a cafe right in the resort but the prices were kind of silly. Two coffees and a single croissant came to $15.00. I mean, I can go to Tim Hortons or Dunkin' Donuts and get two coffees and a small assortment of baked goods for less money than that.
