Where do I begin.... We have never been to a Chuy's before so we were not sure what to expect. When you walk in the restaurant you are hit with a barrage of decor that has nothing to do with Mexican cuisine or Mexican culture. It was splashes of artwork mixed in with old almost Victorian designs mixed with random pictures of people and animals mixed with colors that clash.... it is a disaster to any designer. I don't know who designed this restaurant but they should never design anything again. The menus were pops of bright greens, oranges, pinks, etc. It was not at all pleasing to read off. Onto the star of the show, the food. Disappointed is about all I can say. First off, the chips were flimsy and overly salty and had a manufactured chemical taste. They brought out salsa and ranch... yes, you read that right, ranch. I've never seen ranch dressing as a dip in a Mexicsn restaurant. The salsa was beyond awful. It was so sour like something had gone bad in it. I ordered the tortilla soup that the server raved about and, to be fair, it was ok but it was nothing to rave about. My son had some enchiladas that had a very burnt taste. The beans were as bland as could be and the rice had no flavor. Our server was ok to start but then would disappear for a while at a time. When my wife got up to use the restroom she found a group of servers over in the corner talking before and after the restroom visit. Overall, just a disappointment. There are too many other places to spend money and I wouldn't go back here at all.

Food was not good at all. Chuy’s was a nice and fun atmosphere restaurant, but the food just wasn’t good. I ordered their version of a chicken chimichanga with their “famous” boom boom sauce. Although it was very fresh, and looked like it would be delicious; it had absolutely no flavor. The chicken tasted like boiled chicken and the dish relied on the boom boom sauce for flavor. I usually love boom boom sauce, but something was off with this sauce. It had a little kick to it, but was also bland. I got double rice as my side, and you guessed it the rice was also very bland. My wife got their version of taquitos, and they too were incredibly bland. The chips were better than average. They were very fresh and not salted too much. However they were super thin and easily broke off in the salsa. The salsa was okay. They also included a creamy jalapeño sauce, which tasted like a jalapeño ranch. It was my favorite thing of the night, but reminded me of chip dip that would go better with potato chips versus tortilla chips. Maybe they had a bad night cooking, but I just don’t understand the hype that this chain has.

Stopped for a late lunch on a Saturday and were able to get right in. It is pretty easy to get to off of the highway, and the parking is easy in and out. We were greeted warmly as we came in and they found us some sunny seats in one of the larger seating areas. Decent lunch - the portions were good, but not too big. Both of us had enchiladas and we shared a side of guacamole which was very good. The waiter (Manuel C) was on it - got our order, delivered the food while it was hot, and checked to make sure everything came out as expected without hovering. Overall a really good meal, great service, and glad we stopped. Certainly have it on our list of options for when we pass back through.

The problem wasn't the food (which wasn't anything special) but our waitress. As most people know poor service can really make or break any restaurant experience. Right of the bat our waitress Nicole rubbed me the wrong way. My biggest restaurant pet peev is having hovering wait staff that don't give you time to look at your menu. Literally as soon as we were seated before I had even opened my menu she was in front of us asking to take our orders. We politely asked for more time and she stormed off only to reappear less then 60 seconds later asking again. At this point I hadn't even gotten past the first page of the menu but I felt pressured to place an order. She said she could give us more time but said it in a manner that made it very clear she was flustered that we didn't have the entire menu memorized at this point so I ended up ordering one of the first things I saw on the menu. She was so rushed and inpatient that she didn't even wait for the details of our orders (I was supposed to be able to choose between two different prices and beans). She snatched the menu out of my hand and dashed off in a frantic haste before I even had a chance to express my side interests which was agitating. We also had an issue with our salsa. We were supposed to get two different salsas, a mild and a hot but we only got the hot. When my boyfriend asked her about it she lied right to our faces and said there weren't any other salsas and if we wanted something else she would charge us. My boyfriend ended up asking for some bang bang sauce to replace the missing salsa, she brought out a tiny amount (about the size of one of those thimble sizes ketchup cups) but even better was when we got the check and saw that we were charged $4 for a thimble sized portion of bang bang sauce. But wait, there's more, my boyfriend ordered a drink and never received it. While she was hovering over us like a vulture trying to force us to order, the second we did she was like a ghost. She was impossible to find, we practically had to get a search party to find her to get our receipt. She looked at my boyfriend and said Oh, I never got your drink, do you still want it? Are you kidding me? We've already eaten our food and we are ready to go, of course we don't want it. She had an attitude from the beginning and it was obvious she was so keen to take our orders so she could get it out of the way and wouldn't have to spend any time on our table. She push and rushed us and didn't even have the decency to take our orders properly or even bring us all our items. All I'd have to say is if Nicole is your waitress I'd run for the hills or at very least get another server who actually cares...

Pretty bad experience here with carry out tonight. First off we came in to order, I approached the hostess stand where there were 3 employees all standing around chatting , no "hi , how are you" or any greet. I asked them if I could place an order to go and they said they don't do carryouts but the carryout girl is in the back and they could call her up. So they call back and some young kid comes up asks me for my order and writes it down with a pen and paper and says he'll take it to the carryout girl in the back. He said it would be 15 to 20 minutes. I say okay. I come back in 20 minutes and it isn't ready. I ask the hostess if she will check on it she says okay but then doesn't call back or go to the back... So I ask her again and she says " I am sure it'll be right up " So I wait another 10 minutes (total time now is 30 minutes for a carryout with 2 items) ... So a manager comes up and brings another woman waiting her carry out and then turns to me and asks if I'm waiting for a to go. I say yes and my name and he says he'll go check and be right back... he never comes back !? So then... I ask the hostess yet again to check. She calls back to carryout and says they are bagging it up now... okay so now 5 more minutes go by.. And she finally comes up with a bag and hands it to me. I asked her what time it was rang in because i was quoted 15 minutes and she says oh sorry we were super busy but he rang it in right away he just usually doesn't do carryout. So I check my texts ( I had texted a friend right when I sat down to wait) and the text was sent out at 6:08 Meaning I ordered at 6:05 ish.... the ticket was stapled to the bag... the time read 6:29. Therefore they waited over 20 minutes to even ring the food in!?!?! And I got my food at 7 o'clock. Totally unacceptable, no apologies, and multiple excuses and lies. Super super disappointed. I hardly ever rate restaurants poorly as someone in the industry because I understand there are bad nights. But this was beyond bad. And I felt like I was lied to because the first time I came in to check on the order, they obviously hadn't even rung it in yet.... Oh and the icing on the cake for me was the 3 hostesses who were sitting not even standing in the waiting area, talking football and flirting. Rather than working at all. Management is clearly clueless to the problems in the restaurant and he never even returned with an update on my order... Here's the kicker. We get home and the food is cold as can be ( we live a mile away) and didnt open it in the car. The cheese was not even melted anymore. So I know it had sat for s period of time too .

That will be the last time I ever give...
