Los Gemelos Restaurant — Restaurant in Madison

WARNING DO NOT GO HERE!! If a 0 star rating were possible I would leave that instead, they don't even deserve a 1 star rating. Their customer service is terrible and they are extremely rude. I have gone to Tienda Los Gemelos for as long as I can remember. I have always liked their food, but what made the restaurant even better was always their customer service and sniling faces. Since we were downtown and had just been the the International Festival we decided to go to Los Gemelos on Gilman. I was with my siblings, and the cashier asked us if the food was for here or to go and we told them for here and that our parents were just parking the car. They told us was that we couldn't even enter the vicinity with drinks from another place, which wasn't specified or writen anywhere.I was bummed out and asked if we could finish them inside before we ordered. This mean looking woman with purple dyed tips told us that we couldn't and that we would have to leave the resturaunt. I was so confused by this, but decided that that was fine and we could just throw our drinks away and order their anyway. I then asked if they had a bathroom and the lady said they did, but it was only for their customer's. Baffled I told her that I was a customer and she told me that I wasn't. Angered I decided that the best thing to do would be to leave. As we were leaving I told the purple haired lady that she might want to work on her customer service and being nicer. She then yelled at me and told me that she had great customer service and then proceeded to tell me that I wasn't even going to order from their anyway. As we were leaving the restaurant my mom caught up to us and asked why we were out of the resturaunt. I told her that we had been kicked out and that someone had yelled at us and been very rude to us. She walked back into the resturaunt with us and asked who had yelled at us. I told her that the lady with the purple tips had done it. They lady's tone and voice completely changed! She acted all innocent and said that she had dine nithing to me at all. I was shocked! I told her that she had yelled at me and been very rude. The cashier backed her story up and said that she did nothing wrong. I was so shocked and saddened by the fact that they couldn't admit that they were in the wrong. I used the bathroom to wash my hands and my mom told the lady that we were not going to buy from their ever again if this was the kind of customer service they had. Since I look a lot younger than I am people often assume that I am much younger than my actual age. The waitress belittled me because of the fact that I was younger than her, but treated my mother very respectfully because she looked older. Working in customer service I have learned that you always treat every customer with the same respect no matter their ability, age or politeness. Take this as a warning and don't eat here. I heard this is a sister restaurant of Los Gemelos by the west town mall. Since I always enjoyed the service and the foods whenever I go to the location in the west, I decided to give it a try here.

Well, it wasn't worse the money considering horrible service and soggy tortilla.

First, the waitress and the owner is annoyingly and rude. My group went to the restaurant around 4:30 pm on Tuesday evening and there was absolutely no customer in the hall. The waitress give us the table right next to the bathrooms. I asked her to give us another table preferably by the windows. She said no. I told her to go and ask her manager whether we can seat at another table. The owner didn't even say any reason but told us no. We sat on the table by the bathroom, even though the hall was empty.

Second, after the waitress threw the plates on the table, I realized that she didn't even take the right order for the sides. We ended up canceling the item. Later at the cashier, we had a hassle with the lady owner for the item that never served. Not only that, my meats weren't evenly cooked. I called the waitress. She recognized the problem and brought it back to the kitchen, and the plate came back untouched. I wasn't able to eat a half of the food I ordered.

Third, tortillas came with my food was soggy. It seemed like they just heated up what's left for lunch.

Please believe me, this place should not even be open for business based on our recent experience and other likewise reviews.

My husband and I were verbally attacked by 2 younger female servers and an older female manager over wanting to sit at a different table. The restaurant was half empty and the table they sat us at wobbles so we sat at the one next to it. The server did not like this and yelled across the room we couldn't move to that table because it was being left empty in case more people came in. She didn't say this nicely either, proceeded to get her manager who was also straight to the point and rude.

We got up to leave without any further problems when the server started a fight with me, telling me I don't have to have an attitude etc.. This turned into a yelling match, profanity and the other server and manager jumping in to team up on me.

At one point I thought I was going to have to defend myself in a physical fight, completely blown away by this!

I will be filing complaints with the BBB, Wisconsin Consumer and local law enforcement. They should be held accountable for their aggression towards consumers as it is not a safe...
