Tonight's experience was absolutely phenomenal, I will be coming back here every single week. Every single aspect of tonight was perfection.
The first thing we noticed when we pulled into the parking lot was the awesome setting for the restaurant. It is very thoughtfully laid out and makes for awesome scenery in photos! The interior keeps the vibe going with lots of cool trinkets laid out in various spots along the tables and counters. They also have an area where you can put on traditional kimonos for photos!
Our server, Roger, was super kind, patient, and polite! He was able to answer all of our questions about the menu, and he checked in on us regularly to make sure we were doing well. Multiple other servers also checked in on us asking if we were enjoying our meal. As we were finishing up our meal, we realized that we needed some takeout boxes for our leftover food. Roger was awesome and boxed all of our food for us right at the table! While we were checking out, staff inquired which part of the meal was our favorite, along with making sure we enjoyed the service during our night. Definitely some of the best service I've ever had at a restaurant!
Our dinner tonight was an appetizer of Takoyaki, 2 sushi rolls (fried creamy seafood roll and salmon tempura roll), and Miso Ramen. The favorite of the night was definitely the fried creamy seafood roll. I will be ordering this roll every single time I come here, and honestly I would make the drive just for this roll. It was cooked perfectly! It was as loaded as a sushi roll can get, and there was even more crab piled up on top, and it was a lot of food for the price. It's the biggest sushi roll I've ever seen. With our food, we also got 2 cups of tea. They have a large selection of both warm and hot teas (boba too!). I highly recommend the Thai milk tea with boba and the hot milk tea.
Also definitely worth a mention, they have an adorable robot server that will bring you any appetizers you order! It was an unexpected surprise that added to the already awesome vibe for the night.
They also have a very nice selection of quality chopsticks for sale at the checkout counter. We purchased 2 pairs and plan to make it a regular thing every time we come back for dinner.
Thank you so much Roger and all of the crew working tonight! You all have truly made tonight special to us and we will be coming back super often during the rest of our...
Read moreThis place is definitely worth your time and money. I'd also suggest eating in instead of take-out. The venue has a great ambiance. Inside & out. The booths just make you feel like it's made for time alone with you and your significant other. The food was great. We had 2 appetizers. The gyoza & a bao bao bun. Gyoza is so basic. If it's possible to botch it. Trust me, it was deliberate. Now the bun, on the other hand. It was my first experience. I'm not sure of the combination of the veggies. However, it was rich & dense. Super filling. I could eat those on any given cold evening. On to our entrees. I had the black Tonkatsu Ramen while the Mrs. Had the chicken teriyaki. She threw a soft ball on her selection of Japanese cuisine. A dish you can't miss on. Great chunks of chicken glazed in sweet tangy sauce. Crisp veggies with steamed rice in the dome shape(love it). I came for the ramen. I came for an Ichiraku experience(that ramen spot in Naruto), not trying to be Hokage, but I do want to eat like one. Between the chasu pork & wood ear mushrooms. I don't know what was better pair for the noodles. The bok choy was a great referee as both competed for the best in my bowl. The bone broth wasn't watery but wasn't thick either. It walked a balance that kept everything in your bowl while the black garlic sauce brought it up as a completely different item on the menu. The only thing I'd say that would make it better would be 2 soft boiled eggs instead of 1. I really enjoyed my meal. The staff was attentive. And it's a small pleasure to have a pitcher of water at the table, so I dont have to constantly flag anyone down for a refill. Didn't try the bar, but it does seem like they're well equipped to get the buzz going after a long day or get a vibe going on a night out. This Japanese spot made Miso happy. 5 out 5 ramen...
Read moreOverall a good experience! Menu is reasonably priced, service was polite and attentive, and they even gave the diners free edamame as an apology gift for some construction noise they had going on in the kitchen area.
Since this business took over the building Edo used to use, they left most if not all of the traditional japanese interior and exterior designs completely intact, which i know many are thankful for since this is one of the very few japanese traditional structures in our area!
The only complaints i had about my experience were 1. the menu and 2. some ramen toppings.
the menu. the layout of the menu is very hard to read. the font is an eyesore and the food descriptions are way too close together. it almost felt like i was doing a word search trying to read parts of the menu (photo below.) the good thing about the menu is that they serve a lot of different things, from sushi and poke to teriyaki and boba.
the ramen toppings. char siu pork was flavorful but dry in comparison to other places that serve ramen in the area. also, my egg was more cooked than expected, which was a little bit of a bummer. but again, flavor wise, the food was delicious.
otherwise, the ramen was great! good flavor- i ordered miso pork, which definitely leaned more on the miso side than pork, but definitely tasty. egg noodles had good chew to them. needless to say i finished the majority of the bowl.
sushi was very fresh and expertly made, not a hint of fishiness. i ordered a golden dragon roll, something id definitely...
