I have no idea why this place has such great reviews. Seriously. I had been waiting to try this place since we moved close by, and we happened to be nearby a couple of Sundays ago, so we thought, why not try it- there wasn’t a line. That should have been my first clue. 11 am on a Sunday and now wait? First - the menu on Sunday is incredibly- for lack of better words- blah. IHOP is more creative. Actually, even McDonald’s is. (They are both better too). On to the food. One of our party ordered a three egg cheese omelette, she asked for 3 cheeses- yes we knew it would be more money- she was very specific- Cheddar, Swiss and Provolone. My Dad and I ordered Patty Melts- he asked pink or no pink-which means they don’t cook to temp. So I said- as much pink as they allow? The omelette comes with nothing- without the extra cheeses it is $12.99 - it comes with NOTHING. No toast, no home fries- not even a sprig of parsley. Ridiculous. Home Fries are an additional $3.99- um. No thanks. The omelette gets there and as I am watching her eat it I realize that I do not see any white cheeses in the omelette. She doesn’t say anything and finally she pushes it away- and I said- did that have the Swiss and Provolone in it? She said I don’t think so. So I pull it apart and the only cheese we see is cheddar. I tried for at least 10 minutes to get the servers attention- he hadn’t been back since he served us - so I finally have to call him over loudly- which as a former server I HATE doing- but, maybe he should have checked on us? I asked him about the omelette and he said he had ordered it the correct way, and I pointed out the orange cheese and no white cheese- and he said he would go as the cooks- that honestly annoys me as it shouldn’t require you to ask cooks as you can plainly see it. It’s just common sense. So I said well- you can actually see that there is no other cheese in the omelette. So, of course he calls over the hostess to help him. Dear God. She comes over- he runs away. She asks what happens and I explain- then I say he said he had to ask the cooks, which I don’t understand as he could see it himself. She said “What do you want me to do, spank him”? Are you kidding me?! I kept me cool and said of course not, but he is a server, and should be able to use common sense, and not have to ask the cooks. She said she would take care of it for us. By take care of it she meant take off the $2 we paid for the cheeses she didn’t get. So yeah- the service - there was none. The Patty Melts were a joke, toast not grilled bread. Oh, and they definitely went with pink- as in raw on one side. I just love a passive aggressive cook. So- other than bad overpriced food and horrific service, the place is cute inside, but yeah....
Read moreThis is the best restaurant I’ve ever been to. To start, the food is absolutely delightful. I’ve gone to Diz’s many, many times and every single meal I’ve eaten was fantastic. It’s prepared well, the presentation is phenomenal, and tastes spectacular. Their Dizspinaca in particular is something every soul needs to try, especially their cheesy fries. You will be satisfied with whatever you eat! On top of that, there is a wide variety of food that no matter what you’re in the mood for, it’s there. And if you drink, don’t worry, there’s PLENTY to choose from. They cater to so many pallets.
The atmosphere is wonderful! The vibe is like going to Mom or Grandma’s house with the lights dimmed and is so warm and cozy. If you go in the winter time, it feels like place you needed all along If you go in the summer time, it’s the cool place you want to enjoy!
Finally, the staff is the key component. The wait staff, every single one, is an absolute sweetheart. They are always making sure you have everything, but always of the aware of the flow of conversation. They are so nice, and never seem to be putting on a face—it is clear they like working there. The owner is fantastic, as she clearly takes pride in her work and genuinely loves giving back to each and every bite.
I don’t live in Manchester anymore (I do work there, though), but try to make it back anytime I can. It is and always will be my go to spot. Diz’s is nothing but comfort...
Read moreI was bringing my boys to see the Harlem Globetrotters at SNHU and wanted to take them to lunch in downtown Manchester. I was looking for a place with a good assortment of sandwiches, burgers etc. I did a Google search and settled on Diz's based on their menu.
From the moment I walked in, I knew I made the right choice! The decor, lighting, the entire vibe was so chill, peaceful and welcoming! The hostess was sweet and welcoming as was our server. The only "cool" I would say is that the servers seemed to only be focused on their individual tables and did not smile/interact with anyone else. It's not necessarily a bad thing but in all my serving experience, my colleagues and I would acknowledge and care for the entire restaurant, not just our tables, we talked to everyone, again not a huge deal, just something I noticed.
I ordered the patty melt and my son ordered the fish tacos. Both were PHENOMENAL!!! I chose this place based on wanting certain menu items and Diz's did not let me down! Their drink menu looked amazing too but did not try today. SO EXCITED to return and sample more!! Thank you Diz's for making my lunch date with my...
