Normally this restaurant is great. Food comes quickly and tastes great. Today, however, I ordered Fuji Apple Chicken Salad, but they have me some salad dressing that I do not recognize (it has poppy seeds in it). I discovered this after I had brought it home from their curb-side pickup. I thought to myself, "Okay they made a mistake or they are out of the balsamic vinaigrette, I'll just call and see if they have any before I drive back." So I call and explain the situation and ask if they have any left (giving them the benefit of the doubt that they ran out instead of having made a mistake). The lady on the phone tells me that the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad doesn't come with the vinaigrette, but with some other dressing. I beg to differ as I normally get this salad every day, including yesterday. She insists that it comes with this other dressing and always has, and the only way I could get the vinaigrette is to ask for it separately. I feel like I'm losing my mind and say as much, telling her I feel like I'm in an alternate universe because I order from the app and you can't change the dressing from the app... but she keeps insisting. I decide to drop it and just ask if they have any vinaigrette and they do so I head back to the Panera Bread. Before heading out I go to the Panera Bread website and look up the Fuji Apple Chicken Salad and lo and behold... It comes with white balsamic vinaigrette!!! Fully intending on showing it to her when I arrive, I go in with this poppy seed dressing in tow and tell the guy at the counter that I got the Fuji salad, he instantly says, "that's the wrong dressing, it comes with white balsamic vinaigrette." Thank you!!! I proceed to laughingly tell him about the phone experience and as I do, the other girls up front approach. Without hearing my full story, they all say the same thing he did, "you got the wrong dressing." So I just warned them that someone in their staff is misinformed and likely needs more training, as politely as I can because it's obviously none of their fault. So anyway Panera would normally get 5 stars from me and I wouldn't even take one off for a simple mistake, however... Ignoring me when I say "please check the website or the menu to prove I'm telling you the truth" and just assuming you're right about something is an issue and some day she will make this meal the wrong way for someone far meaner than I am. I just hate to see that happen to the rest of their truly elite crew. Minus 2 stars for making...
Read moreI go to Panera fairly often, at least 10 times this year; let me start off with saying I enjoy going to places more northern in the world, so that goes to say that my experience at Panera this particular location was very pleasurable. When I entered with my two other coworkers they finished and then as I was speaking to the young lady Jessica at the cash register she was so warm hearted and just very wonderful to talk to you! I think she should be givin a promotion and a reward for her outstanding service; she was able to vary intellectually and intuitively. Repeat my order back to me and she took down my phone number for my free sweets reward when she asked where my 717 area code resides in I kindly responded that it’s from the Pennsylvania Hershey area and she was nice enough to let me know that I have a nice accent which made me feel so full of joy and I almost forgot to go straight to the father in heaven for that wonderful praise that I received through such a kind hearted person! I ordered the chicken pesto and tomato dipper. I also ordered the French onion dipper with steak sandwich and the fireside chili. I included pictures below. The sandwiches are fair in their portion sizes and tasty. I very much so enjoyed the tomato dipping sauce it actually went much better with my mac & cheese with bacon on top. I also got my usual which is a cranberry loaf, which was good as usual although the fire side chilly was a bit more thin than I expected, but I do understand that Panera most likely puts most of their soups through food processors, and the chili stuck to its name by being very, very hot in temperature a.k.a. fireside chili, the atmosphere there was nice and I hope that all the hands that prepared my meal...
Read moreUsually love going to panera but this visit was a disaster and this is not my first bad experiance with manchester Panera. I ordered my food and paid to be then later be told they were out of watermelon for their salad. No big deal, they asked me what I wanted I ordered a med veggie sandwich instead. Realizing there was a more than dollar difference i asked to get a refund for the difference and the manager who was not at all pleasant refunded me more than the difference. Recieved my food to find out they were out of the bread the med veg usually comes on and without consulting or letting me know made it with different bread. My husband ordered a "fresh" baguette that was guaranteed sitting out there since this morning. Fresh does not mean as fresh as you think, fresh meaning the oldest it can be was when it was cooked by the overnight baker which is when all the pastries and cookies are baked. Very upset with this visit and the past few I have had at the manchester panera bread. Last time we were in we ordered my son a pb&j which came as a make your own sandwhich. Upon questioning why they dont actually make the sandwich they cipped out with, "Because of penut allergies." Because having penutbutter all over the dining room is ok for peoole with allergies but the possibility of an employee causing cross contamination gives them the ok to charge me food servise tax and price for an unmade sandwhich. If I was able I would leave a zero star rating. You want good food and service go to the panera bread in bedford trust me its worth the extra 10...
