A Texas Treat Like No Other – Andy’s Frozen Custard is the Gold Standard
If you’re craving something sweet and unforgettable, there is absolutely no better place to go than Andy’s Frozen Custard. From the moment you arrive, it’s clear why this spot has become a fan-favorite in Texas and beyond. Whether you’re swinging by on a hot summer night or just looking for a comforting treat any day of the week, Andy’s delivers an incredible experience every single time.
Let’s start with the star of the show—The BootDaddy Concrete. If you’ve never tried it, stop what you’re doing and go grab one. It’s hands-down the BEST item on the menu. Creamy vanilla frozen custard blended with rich hot fudge, smooth caramel, and crunchy Oreo pieces—it’s everything you could possibly want in a dessert. The textures and flavors all complement each other perfectly, and every bite is packed with sweet, chocolatey, caramel goodness. It’s indulgent without being too heavy, and once you’ve had it, it’s hard to settle for anything else.
But honestly, no matter what you order at Andy’s, you’re in for a treat. Their menu is packed with a variety of choices—shakes, malts, floats, sundaes, splits, concretes, and seasonal favorites—and every single one is crafted with their signature frozen custard that’s rich, smooth, and impossibly creamy. You can taste the quality in every spoonful. Unlike regular ice cream, the frozen custard has a denser texture that feels luxurious, and it holds flavors so well. Whether you’re a fan of classic vanilla or love trying new combinations, there’s something here for every kind of sweet tooth.
One of the best things about Andy’s is the consistency. The service is always fast, friendly, and efficient. The team is welcoming and helpful, happy to make recommendations if you’re stuck choosing from the (very tempting) menu. The atmosphere is also perfect—it’s got that nostalgic charm of a classic ice cream stand, with a fun, upbeat vibe that makes it feel like a mini celebration every time you visit. Whether you’re pulling through the drive-thru or stopping to sit on a bench outside, the experience is easy, enjoyable, and always satisfying.
Andy’s isn’t just a dessert stop—it’s a part of the community. It’s where families go after games, where friends gather for late-night treats, and where you can create memories over a shared spoonful of something amazing. There’s just something special about this place that makes you want to keep coming back.
If you’re in Texas—or anywhere near an Andy’s location—you owe it to yourself to stop by and experience it. Trust me: try The BootDaddy first. Then work your way through the menu. From floats that bring soda shop vibes to thick, creamy malts and unique seasonal treats, there’s nothing on the menu that disappoints. Andy’s Frozen Custard isn’t just the best in Texas—it might just be the best frozen dessert...

We dropped by on a weekday after 6 for a frozen treat and decided to place our order with the cashier. There is ample parking provided as well as a drive-through for quick and fast service. Upon approaching the service counter, there was a large, beautifully displayed menu with prices, detailed descriptions of the items, and pictures. We went ahead and placed an order for the pint of hot fudge brownie and 2 kid sizes of dirt & worms, which was a vanilla custard garnished with oreo crumbs and chewy colorful gummy worms. The difference between your typical standard ice cream and custard is that, according to the FDA, ice cream must have at least 10 percent milk fat and less than 1.4 percent egg yolk while custard contains at least 10 percent milk fat but must have more than 1.4 percent egg yolk. The other difference is that ice cream machines mix in more air for a fluffier product, while custard machines mix in very little air for a more creamy result.
The hot fudge brownie was indeed rich and creamy with ooey gooey fudge and moist pieces of chocolate brownies incorporated in a frozen vanilla custard. The kid sizes of the dirt & worms were indeed more than a treat, and the kids were completely satisfied. The prices were fair while the quality of the products was second to none. The staff and employees were professional and eager to assist in any way to provide top-notch service. The ambiance was nice and modern, and it was perfect to hang out and enjoy the Texas summer months paired with some great custards...
Read moreI recently stopped by Andy’s Frozen Custard and tried the original Straw-Ana sundae, and it was absolutely delicious! The custard was rich, creamy, and perfectly smooth, while the fresh strawberries and bananas added a refreshing, fruity touch that made every bite delightful. It’s the kind of dessert that instantly hits the sweet spot.
The vibe at Andy’s is super chill and lively at the same time. The seating is simple with benches, which gives it a fun, retro food stop feel that’s both nostalgic and welcoming. It reminded me of classic dessert spots from back in the day, where the energy is upbeat but still relaxed.
The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience even more enjoyable. They were attentive and helpful, which makes a big difference when you’re choosing from such a wide variety of treats. Speaking of options, Andy’s has so many delicious frozen custard flavors, sundaes, concretes, and specialty items—it’s hard to decide what to try next!
