This was our first time here, and the food was actually really good. My husband's family is from Southern Louisiana. So, when places claim it's "cajun," we are a bit skeptical bc most places we try should be ashamed of themselves for saying it. Some of them don't season half the food they serve.
This place brought out the crawfish boil in a bag with amazing flavor and the perfect amount of spice. My husband said they could've kicked it up a notch. He chose the medium bc he wasn't sure how hot it would be.
I'm not a seafood person, but I do try to step out of my comfort zone. I ordered the popcorn shrimp with cajun fries. It was pretty good. I felt like the shrimp could've used a bit more seasoning, but I'm not sure if that's a normal thing to not really season it. I just dipped it in the sauce of my husband's crawfish bag. I didn't like how extremely thin the fries were, though.
The service was good and the store was really clean. It's a bit pricey, but you pay for what you get. His boil bag had 3 lbs of meat (he got to pick what he wanted). I think like 4 sausages, 2 corn, and 3 potatoes. Something like that for $51. The popcorn shrimp was $7.99 during their happy hour. We also ordered the jalapeño hush puppies. Those were really good, and they had good flavors as well. I recommend trying it at least once. It's worth it. Leave your kids at home and take your SO or a friend out on a date. Read moreI recently visited Kickin’ Crab for their grand opening, and while there were some positives, the overall experience left me underwhelmed. We ordered Combo #2, which included snow crab, crawfish, and oysters in the bag. The seafood was decent, but the sauce was pretty mediocre – nothing that stood out as exceptional. I was also surprised to find that they charge $3.75 for every side order of sauce, which we weren't aware of upfront, and it felt like a bit of a hidden charge.
The cocktails were another disappointment. We had two shots of Mexican candy was decent but now the Maiti waswatered down and, in my opinion, not worth the $9 price tag if you pay full price. For the cost of the meal, I expected a more flavorful experience overall.
The customer service could definitely use some improvement. We had to ask for everything—from a bucket to put our shells in, to gloves and scissors. It felt like the staff wasn’t very attentive to the basic needs of the customers, which detracted from the experience.
While I understand it was a grand opening, there’s definitely room for improvement. I'll give them another chance in the future, but right now, it’s hard to say this place is...
Read moreIt was our first time here we sat at the bar and after getting our water and drinks nobody bothered to ask us if we were ready to order we had to ask one of the waitress girls to help us and she tried however I could tell she was in a hurry because she had food waiting for her to get to her table. No point of having a bar sitting area if you don’t have a bartender. We also ordered 2 lbs crab legs 2 lbs shrimp eggs potatoes and sausage the seasoning was not seasoning could barely taste it asked the waitress to add seasoning she said $3.75 and I asked how is that even possible your food is not seasoned right and she was in a hurry she asked did you we want to order or not until one of the gals said it’s ok she will fix the issue. Asked for a drink again and had to call the bartender to serve us just a horrible experience. I’m big on customer service and...
