On Thursday, our lovely daughter treated me to a Grill chicken salad, vegetable egg rolls and a peach sweet tea from Zaxby’s on Matlock in Mansfield, TX. I enjoyed the selection she surprised me with, so today my mom gave me money to get our 4 year old grandson (Our daughter’s oldest child) some lunch to take home on the way back after being gone most of the day. So, we were near Zaxby’s and I decided to get him a chicken kids meal, which included fries, a drink and graham cracker snack. I decided to also get two egg rolls, an order of crinkle fries and a few of the lil sliders. Well, the app stated regular fries and seasoned fries, I said regular fries, they gave seasoned fries and the egg rolls were burnt. I called back, thinking the guy would say bring them back and I will replace them and redo the egg rolls, to. But no, he told me it was my fault for not stating I did not want season fries. I told him that was my first time ordering and I saw both on the app, so if I didn’t state season fries, I would get regular fries. He then said, those are tasteless fries, who wants that. -I went on to tell him I am allergic to that seasoning, it sends me to the ER, been there, did that more than once, not trying to do it again. He said, that’s the only way they sell them and everyone knows that. I told him, not everyone, that was my first time ordering there. So, he tells me, he will give back my money for the egg rolls if I bring them back, although he doesn’t believe half black and extra crunchy egg rolls are not over cooked and burnt. Which on Thursday, they were normal, his response was that was probably new cooking oil and they have four fryers and all of them looked dark today. I asked if he was going to replace the fries and he told me, it was my fault for not asking for non-seasoned fries, they can’t be expected to ask 2,000 plus people a day if they want seasoned fries or not, I should have asked since I know I can’t have seasoned fries. So, in other words you doesn’t want my business, he said it was my choice to come back or not and then he said, yes I am telling you I don’t want your business. So, there we have it, I will not be going to another Zaxby’s, no matter who’s credit card or money in hand. That’s my first and last time going to any of their locations. I believe in getting what I expected I...
Read moreZaxby's Chicken Fingers is well known in the lower Eastern Southern states for their chicken tenders and sides. This location is located off Matlock by Debbie.
We wanted to get a quick bite before heading home, so we agreed to try Zaxbys for the first time. They serve chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, fried pickles, grilled cheese, and many more side items like fried cheese to choose from. We went ahead and got some tenders and fried cheese with fries and a fountain drink. The fountain drink station here is one of the drink stations that offers many drink choices such as sodas, lemonades, powerade, and many flavor syrups such as a lime coke. After receiving our cups, we quickly went to the soda station to fill up our drinks but were left with zero ice from the station.
Our food came out and was bagged up for a to go order when we told them we would be dining in. When opening the containers, I initially wasn't impressed with the food quality and presentation. The chicken tenders were limp and were not freshly fried as well as the fries. The toast was soft and flimsy and didn't appear to be toasted at all but had the toast marks as if they reheated it. The zaxby sauce was okay but was very acidic to my stomach, and every time I ate it, I squealed.
Overall, I wasn't very pleased with trying Zaxbys for the first time, and I don't think I will ever attend this location again from this experience. I really think they can improve this experience by one progressive cooking and not just mass cooking items to get people in and out. I honestly feel people prefer waiting longer for items they know that will taste good. The ambiance and cleanliness of the restaurant was sub par and a lot of food debris was scattered throughout the floors and under the tables. I really wanted to like this place , but I have experienced...
Read moreI just received one of the poorest displays of customer service of my life. I ordered a tender combo and kids meal tender meal. I received one honey mustard with each meal. I asked for an additional one for my meal. I was told that would be 75 cents. I asked for the logic in that when the kid meal came with 1, I thought it reasonable to include 2 for the adult meal. The cashier wouldn't budge so I asked to speak to a manager. She turned around and yelled to the manager what the issue was. When the manager approached there was no greeting, nothing, he just immediately repeated what the cashier had said. I again asked for the logic and he said well we can't give a half of a sauce. He said that one sauce is only given for up to 5 tenders. I then asked if it was really worth fighting me over 75 cents and losing a customer, and he shrugged his shoulders. I then told him that I would never eat there again and would be issuing a review, he said "oh well". There can be argument over whether or not they should have just given me a sauce or if I should have just paid the 75 cents. But, what isn't up for argument is that, you do not treat customers this way especially if you want them to return. He showed me that they do not care about customers. Next time I will just go...
