Finally getting around to this review after its been sitting in my drafts for the longest. We visited on 09/18/21
How can I describe the madness that is this location. I've yet to come across a more packed restaurant than this. The amount of Chaos that this location had was something I'm 100% sure we will not be returning too.
We decided to stop in for a quick bite since Chick-fil-A was way too packed. Me also never coming to this location or ever ever visiting a canes before I was unaware that this is also a hot spot. We also had to park in The Habits parking lot since the parking attendant informed us about no parking available in there lot. The inside of this location was so unorganized it was a annoying. The line wrapped around Tables on the inside that in reality cannot be used due to such a huge line. It was so loud with the amount of people inside.
We ordered 2 Sandwich combos Lrg Lemonade 4 extra toast since they said they were amazing Caniac Combo Extra Canes sauce Extra coleslaw Everything was about $39.00
Lemme start this whole review by stating that the main reason they didn't receive 1 Star was because of there toast. I had the misfortune of when we received our food there was a huge hair inside of one of the Sandwiches that I ordered. I immediately took it to the front where the staff was nice enough to replace it, but just the fact of it happened completely turned me off to the whole location. Can we talk about how completely bland this chicken is? Like does the person who made this recipe not have any taste buds? Lets add some seasoning to the chicken and batter, even Popeyes has better chicken. The Cole slaw needed some salt as well but it was refreshing. The Texas toast is amazing. Im so glad I got so many extra pieces but $1.00 each piece is pushing it. Y'all can't get any better type of fries? Crinkle fries always remind me of cafeteria fries and that's what these were. The Canes sauce ain't nothing special. Im really trying to understand why this place is so hyped up because all I had was chicken with sauce that wasn't even that great.
Honestly we probably wouldn't stop by again if...
Read moreOverhyped chicken fast food restaurant.. So let's begin by saying that you can either avoid a good 30+ minutes of your life and go eat somewhere amazing like El Jardin or if you don't care then you can waste those 30+ minutes. We came around 4pm on 10/25 and it was slow, usually every time we drive through manteca it's super busy and it really makes you wonder how good it must be. We ordered two kids combos, a 4pc without coleslaw extra fries and a 6pc combo. Time was fast as we sat down after getting our drinks and a minute later our order was ready so not even 10 minutes after we placed our order. Now onto the good part..Taste Test Rating!!! Food was hot and to us nothing was superior but I'll rate best to worst. Chicken was juicy and tender no dry spots and breading seasoning was average with a light crisp. Texas toast was soft and buttery. Fries were okay but to me they kinda reminded me of the frozen bag of fries at a grocery store. Coleslaw to me was super similar to KFC nothing different or special. Canes sauce was very disappointing. It was more pepperish than anything with no other flavor. I was expecting something as flavorful as the Chick-fil-A sauce but I think I would rather eat everything plain than even have it there. At least they should add ranch as a second option, I think that would make it even better. Almost forgot, so with the kids combos those little things came with it as the toy lol not sure if it was for that straw purpose but I guess it worked. So in conclusion we would not go back again unless...
Read moreRaising Canes? More like raising expectation, only to fall short. Going into this meal I will admit, I was expecting a lot from this place. With the reputation it had, the long lines, and from first hand accounts from friends, I expected a meal you could only find in the heart of Texas. Instead what I got was a meal I could halfway make at home. The chicken fingers did not disappoint though. With it being their main seller, it had to be good. It was delicious, crispy and not what I expected considering the last time I had chicken fingers was in elementary school. The Texas toast seemed a little out of place. It was good don’t get me wrong, but something I would get with breakfast. The sauce was so-so. Just a mock up of thousand island dressing with a lot of pepper. I’ve never been a fan of crinkle cut fries and this experience confirms it. The lemonade wasn’t anything special. I could get the same taste from the soda machine. The saving grace, surprisingly, was the coleslaw! I never liked coleslaw but to give my full review of the food I felt like I had to try it. And if anything, saved me from the overpowering taste of the sauce the food came with. Overall, I wouldn’t see myself going out of my way to eat here again. I also take into consideration that it wasn’t fresh since I ate it 30 mins after it was ordered. But I won’t be “raising” my hopes for a...
