TLDR. We were singled out because of race by a customer, which caused an employee kick us out of our curbside space while we were eating. Assistant Manager said we were were being too sensitive. Corporate did nothing and was largely uninterested. Operator never called to address the issues. Seems like Chick-Fil-A's bigotry is as strong as ever.
We went to the Maple Grove location for the first time. As usual at all Chick-Fil-A's during Covid, we ordered curbside and enjoyed our meal in our car with our two young children. It was about 6PM and it still wasn't too busy. As we were finishing up our meal, the car next to us was picking up his order curbside. The gentleman made mention to the employee (who was black) referencing our "ethnic background" and how he was not comfortable talking to us.. The employee said that she would take care of it. She then comes around to our car and says we aren't supposed to eat in the car and that we need to leave.
Keep in mind that there are several other cars in other spaces. This white guy singles US out and the employee allows herself to be manipulated into kicking us out. One wonders why she didn't talk to other people who were eating in their cars. I hate playing the race card, but it really looks like it.
I immediately called the store and the manager named PJ, came out and we had a conversation. We were able to find the employee who asked me to leave. If you can believe it, she lied about telling us to leave. She has the stones to lie to my face with her manager present. I mentioned that the customer's complaint seemed racial and the manager's response is that because the employee was African-American, this couldn't possibly be a race issue. Really? The employee's being a minority neutralizes the fact that customer was racially motivated to single us out? It's completely absurd. Said that there were limited spots and that it was understood that customers should not stay in the spaces if it is full. The store failed to list that clearly and needs to do so. Also, this so called "understanding" that customers were supposed to leave the curbside space immediately after receiving the food order is news to me.
I called customer support in Atlanta and aired my grievance. The gentleman was polite, but was clearly just there as a PR measure. He didn't seem particularly interested in hearing me and wasn't at all upset at what happened to my family. If I were a customer service representative and a call like this came it, it would definitely upset me and worry me about the damage it could do to my company's branding. The representative asked if if the Operator of the store could call me. I said that I was happy to share my feedback so they could fix this slew of issues.
Did the Operator Nancy Christman call me? No, she did not. Given the problems that Chick fil A has with their PR, this isn't something that is a good look for them. I'll NEVER go back to this location again. The brand itself is severely damaged in my eyes and we rarely go to any locations anymore after...
Read moreUPDATED 5/24/25 @ we were here around 6:30 p.m., Saturday , and noticed that although the restaurant was COMPLETELY full of People, for the Timberwolves deal, there were, at two SEPARATE times, very small kids walking around saying dada? Daddy? Dada? Trying to find their dads. You can see that moment of panic on kids faces, when they can't find their parent. And only a few people stopped and looked to see where the parent was. But then they kept on walking to their table. And no one stopped to help or question the kids??! I don't have kids, so I was on high alert, and nobody was coming for these kids. The little boy under 2yrs old walked up and down the aisles several times. Please please watch your kids , you might think that because they can't get out of a door of a restaurant there's no harm that could be done, but seeing two little little kids, I'm talking 1 under 2 years old, and maybe, 1 under 5 years old, just roaming around, calling for their daddy.... was very concerning. One person, an AWESOME woman customer in a creme Dollywood shirt, who did have a little boy with her, did get up and talk to you a Chick fill A employee, but that employee didn't do anything! They just said oh yeah and thenJust got back to what they were doing. Unbeknownst to the customer, she wasn't a mgr. (everyone's shirts changed, I noticed). I finally got up to talk to a manager, and finally this guy starts walking to the 1yr old, and he leads him around the corner to sit down to eat. But no acknowledgement of "were you looking for me, buddy?". I feel like the employee should have done something. I mean something? Maybe acted as if they were interested in the missing child that couldn't find their father , I don't know something? Maybe you see it so much that you're oblivious to it by now?
Previous review from 2/25/25. All the employees are very nice here, they bring your food to your table very quickly, and if they notice that if you're hanging around, without food they'll ask you right away what you ordered and they'll get it to you right away. There's a play place here, but you have to be under a certain height to, that is recommended, that you play in the designated area. Awesome food, make sure to use your app so you earn points for free food! I don't think they have the push button doors for accessibility, but I could be wrong?. The most annoying thing Chick-fil-A has, is the door stoppers on the outside of the bldg. There are two of them because there are two entrance doors or two exit doors on the front of the building. It catches every single person off guard when they open the door because it is only a 90° angle I think. I'm sure there's a reason...
Read moreIm highly disappointed my family comes to Chick fil A at least once a week for a family of four. Tonight they all wanted food from here so that’s where my sister went for her family and I. Once she arrived home after spended over $30 in the drive threw they forgot one of our Chick fila sandwiches to a meal. Which means one of use did not have our full meal. So my sis called the store and Jonathan and to come back and they will make it. So since I had to drive home still I decided I would just give up my sandwich and pick it up which they knew about at the location no problem with that when I got there they provided me with a new sandwich and fries since my fries had been cold I asked for new ones no problem. Until I pulled off and started to drive away then I noticed I asked for a spicy chicken deluxe which should have cheese and tomatoes and lettuce etc on it and this chicken sandwich only was chicken and three pickles on it. I then turned around and asked them to remake it that this was not the sandwich I had ordered or asked for some girl named Anna Or something close to that with a red shirt Rudely says to the other employee well she need to give the sandwich that she has back not once but twice not once did she apologize at that point yes I started to get angry I told her that the sandwich was right there and that was no problem I then gave back the sandwich and the original fries I told her she could come get the stuff her self from me is she liked. But the guy outside that handed me the food did apologize and offer to give me a free cookie or brownie but I can’t have sweets like that. I’m just upset about the whole thing that was really rude and unprofessional of the girl also with Covid spreed in around that was really ignorant of her to ask of it back. You don’t know If myself or someone else could be sick and u just took a bag from me that I’ve already had in my car and touched being that I knew my sandwich was wrong. Just to prove what point exactly when you guys got my order wrong twice that was...
