To be fair, the food as well as our server were definitely the highlight of our evening. Forgive me for the length of the review- I made a same day reservation online including paying a $31.50 reservation "deposit". I traveled to the Topgolf in Tucson from Phoenix. Due to traffic I was running approx. 30 minutes late. So I called the number listed on Google maps. This is an automated line that gives you options to choose from but you can't get a live person regardless of what options you choose. I literally tried every option but it always ended up hanging up. I finally spoke with a representative who deals with multiple facilities. I asked her if I could adjust my reservation by 30 minutes. She told me to cancel my current reservation and place a new reservation. When I went to the website to do this, there was a message saying since I was cancelling the reservation less than 24 hours before the time I was not able to be refunded the $31 deposit that I already paid. If I followed the operators advice I would be forfeiting the $31 already paid and then paying another $31 fee for the new reservation. The operator never mentioned anything about not being refunded when I cancelled the original one. I feel like she definitely should have told me this would be a possibility at least when she suggested cancelling the reservation. I opted not to cancel my original reservation. I figured I'd be better off showing up late to the reservation then running the risk of forfeiting $31 for the cancellation and then paying another $31 for the new reservation. When I was about 10 minutes late for my original reservation the Tucson location called asking if I was still coming, I said yes and explained how I tried to call to tell them I was going to be late. When I arrived they had everything ready and escorted me to my spot. I had 2 additional guests that arrived separately so they didn't know what bay we were at so we didn't get started golfing immediately. This is where we were gouged for the 2nd time! I was never told that the 2 hour reservation was already half over when they escorted me to the bay. I would be more understanding about this if they were busy with people waiting but the area was barely at 1/2 capacity. My ultimateissue with the entire experience is the absolute lack of transparency and non-existent communication. 1. Not giving the customer any way to adjust a reservation once made and NOT stating anything about this "policy". 2. Having zero option to talk to someone at the location in case of an emergency. 3. Not receiving any instruction/explanation regarding the 2 hour reservation start time. 4. Not including the $31 reservation "deposit" in the itemized bill price. The bill simply listed $89 for the 2hr "experience" without mentioning what the $31 deposit was used for. 5. I was told a manager would come by to discuss the possibility of getting to play for the 2 full hours anyway since the Bay's were not full. However, I never heard another word about this and never did speak to a manager. By this time I was done with the entire situation so I didn't even press the issue of speaking with the manager. 6. We were informed that we had 11 minutes left to play and then asked if we would like to pay for an additional 15 minutes and play until they closed. In my head I was thinking are you kidding? You charged us $110 for the 2 hour reservation where we utilized maybe 45 minutes worth. Why the hell would I want to pay for another 15 minutes! 7. Someone could have been kind enough to say, "hey, why don't you just hang out for another 15 minutes until we close". Instead, as soon as the 11 minutes were up, we were being actively pressured to put our food in to-go boxes and pay or relocate inside so we wouldn't be occupying the space anymore even though they were about to close so no one was waiting to take our place. 8. Clearly the bottom line does NOT revolve around the customer. Based on this experience, Top golf's motto is time=$. So much that customers are stopped from adjusting reservations or calling...
Read moreNever been so ignored. We had a group of 4 and we decided to sit at the bar. Minutes later, we got our bartender help all of us out asking what we wanted to drink. We got drinks and decided to get menus And we all decided to get something to eat. Bartender came 10mins later and ask only 2 out of 4 of the party if they were ready to order. I figured she would ask me and my friend if we were ready to order. 5 minutes passed by and nothing. 10 mins and nothing. At this point my other half of my friends received there order. So i waited another 10 minutes and nothing. So we asked another worker to see if we could get helped with our order. So at this point my friends were already finishing there food. So one of my friends flagged the bartender that we haven't been helped. So the bartender decided only helped the 3rd person of my group. So i was like maybe she would helped me after. Even one of my friends from the group said "hey you missed his order" the bartender said " oh okay!" Then 5 minutes passed and nothing. So at this point i gave up and mentioned to my friend that " I'm just not going to eat since all you guys are finished" and i accidentally said it didn't realizing she was nearby. So she decided to come up and ask for my order. At this point i didn't realize my other half of the party went to complaint regarding the service we were getting. So i had the Supervisor I believe her name was Vanessa had come up to me regarding the complaint that was brought to her attention. Now My problem that made me feel uncomfortable and awkward that she started to explained the complaint and that she was going to comp our order but Vanessa did it right next to the bartender that my other half of my party had complaint about. So i explained to her that i Didn't really want my order anymore and wanted to keep my answer short since the bartender was listening to both the supervisor vanessa and i having this conversation. Next thing the bartender was taken to the back by Vanessa telling her to come with her. Bartender comes back with a face like she just got chewed out. So at this point I'm feeling uncomfortable So i asked my friends what was the complaint and they said that it wasn't right how the service is going and how your not being attended. So at this point Vanessa is helping my other friend by reimbursement by being some club member. Im here just waiting to pay for my 1 beer to leave but at the same time wasn't eager to pay for my beer since the bartender is still handling the area and a face that was not approachable anymore. So i walked all the way to the front desk to ask "umm can i pay my drink with you? So they supervisor comes back with my receipt and adds and extra charge of some vodka. I guess my friends drink that was on the other side (2nd person not helped) was added to my account. So at this point i just wanted to leave and said "thats fine ill pay for her drink" and she tried to get me at the end with some membership and i was " Sorry! But I don't expect to come to this place anytime soon again the bartender needed some training so it is what it is". So i personally didn't feel that i should have paid for my drink but i did. Lastly, i would like to point out that although that 4 people in my group received poor service i personally felt i was ignored the most because of the color of my skin as i stated above she continued to ignored me multiple times when my friends kept telling her she forgot me. Training is needed on both employee and...
Read moreThis place is a blast. I've been several times, but for some reason, never on the top level. Always level two.
The Good: You don't have to be a skilled golfer. The targets are large, you will score or at least have fun trying. They provide clubs, and even have left handed clubs, though I am not sure if they have different length ones. Mine seemed too long. The ball tracking is quite amazing. The staff is all very kind and helpful if you ask. It's always clean when you arrive. They are very timely with start and end times. The food comes fast and is pretty good. You don't have to play. You can be a spectator and have almost as much fun. You can play in most weather because of the heaters. Not sure if they have AC, though since it's indoor/outdoor.
Things to Improve: The staff doesn't come by often enough. It's loud. Groups together aren't really together, even the seating is back to back. Flipping the couches to be a U instead of 2 Ls would be great for groups. It's unclear how to play some of the games. No one explains how to hold a club, stand, swing etc. You just kind of have to know, or look like an idiot as you figure it out.
My Experiences:
It's fun! You should give it a try.
I've been for corporate and birthday events with groups only, never just for fun or on a date. I'm not sure how the experience would be with a small group.
There was a hummingbird out front.
Get the doughnuts at the end, but remember to wash your hands, so you don't get the clubs sticky.
The nachos are small. Go for the queso, salsa and guac instead. Tater tots are good, but get cold quick. Salads are good. Grilled chicken tastes too grilled--might be fake grill seasoning. Sliced cheeses on sandwiches seem low quality (clearish in color when melted). Burgers were good. Nothing was outstanding foodwise, but you are there for fun, not necessarily the food. Drinks are fun and tasty. Water comes fast!
Rambunctious kids next to us standing on the ball thing and going over the red line, not being safe was scary to see. Parents are to blame, but I'm surprised staff didn't say something.
The bar in the evening can be quite rowdy and hard to navigate.
Maybe the staff doesn't come around often because they don't want you drinking too much and falling in the net. It happens.
I recommend it for a fun night out. It's a great place for almost any age. It's rare there is somewhere people under 21 can go and have as much fun as the over 21 crowd and stay out late. It might be a bit pricey to go often. It's also quite far from much of the town.
If you haven't been, you should go...
