Really bummed with my experience here. We tried Third Street Bagel for the first time and when we got to the counter they had a sign saying a 15min wait, no problem! Unfortunately, we waited 40 minutes for our bagels and coffees on a Saturday morning. Everyone enjoyed their coffees and the egg/sausage sandwiches were great. Bagels are yummy! This honestly wasn’t that big of a deal, so I decided to try again the next day on our way out of Marquette. Sunday morning at 7:50am, I walked in and there was two other ladies ordering in front of me, two couples sitting down, no wait sign. I ordered two bagel sandwiches, and a hot chocolate. Received my bagels 25 minutes from ordering, and kept waiting on the hot chocolate. It was 40 minutes after ordering and I still did not receive it. Multiple people were getting very frustrated and making comments around me as they were waiting for their drinks, as well. After 50 minutes of waiting for the hot chocolate, I let the girl at the barista bar know I was headed out and she no longer needed to make it, no refund offered (and honestly at this point I didn’t even care). Hadn’t even started on it. The guy next to me commented “I’m ready to just walk out”. Unfortunately, this long wait experience two days in a row really was frustrating and I most likely would not be back. The bagel concept itself is a cool concept, the space is a very cute modern space, and the drinks when we received...
Read moreDon't waste your time. An hour and 6 six minutes to get 4 bagels. Not sandwiches. Nothing fancy. 4 bagels with some cream cheese. Ended up with 3 bagels because the 4th wasn't in the bag but out of fear of waiting another hour, we didn't complain. I get it, things happen. I've worked within the service industry all of my high school and college years so I understand things happen, people get busy, and things can get missed. I wanted to be understanding as they DID warn it would be a 40 to 45 minute wait; but waiting over an hour for a bagel is truly unbelievable. As for the quality and taste of the bagels, perhaps I'm jaded from waiting over an hour, but it was okay at best. A toothsome bagel is great but the flavor was just....okay. the cream cheese was plentiful but again, lackluster in flavor. The highlight was the drip coffee, which was collectivo, thank God. But the staff was very friendly and I didn't see anyone complaining about the business of the cafe which is always a plus. As for the cafe itself, void of any individuality or interest as it was a standard "designed by millinial" cafe. Open concept with lots of wood/metal fixtures. Was hoping for more from "small town/local business" but if I were you, I'd run to the meijer/Walmart and grab a sack of thomas bagels and a tub of Philly cream cheese. It may not be great, but at least it's...
Read moreObviously the best bagels in town, though admittedly the competition couldn't fight its way out of a paper bag. If you're used to big city bagels like those from TO or NYC, moderate your expectations. But look forward to generous proportions – excellent prices for your value, if you're expecting a petite repast you may be overjoyed to find that their food is always filling.
The bagels are definitely edible and decently priced – I've never been disappointed by them. If you order some kind of sandwich it is usually fairly good and it's always made properly. And they have coffee, which… who doesn't love that, right? Plus they probably have tea or whatever for you non-coffee people – totally understandable, I've been there.
One thing I really do love is that you can get bagel sandwiches with hummus, which is incredibly underrated and everyone should try hummus on their bagel at least 10 times in your life.
🥯+חומוס! 🤤🤤🤤
Oh, you can also buy half dozen and dozen bagels at a time here, including day olds that are usually pretty good still.
If you want to make sure to get your breakfast in time, plan ahead. Show up early. Be patient. And remember that it's worth the...
