I have stewed over this review for the past 24 hours, and I've finally decided to rate it in the following manner. By virtue of the "24hr" period, it means it's weighed on me. I'm not the typical "Karen", finding fault with everything... I placed a pickup order about 25 minutes early as I was traveling from one area to another. Anticipating my arrival, I placed the order and drove to this Panera in Salisbury. On my arrival, through the front door, I saw no online pick-up area denoted, so I headed to the normal pickup counter. I waited for about 15 minutes before there were no more customers, and I was the only person left standing there. A middle-aged woman in a salmon colored top asked me what my order was, and I explained I had placed an online order for a ciabbatta and egg sandwich. Before I could continue, a younger woman standing behind her glared at me, pointed angrily across the store, and said, "IT'S AT RAPID PICK-UP!." I sheepishly walked across the store, found the shield with my bag, and headed out. When I got to my destination, I began work and eventually opened the bag. My sandwich was in there, but... My order referred to an aioli sauce and spinach, yet mine did not have either. I spent the day mildly bothered by this, the attitude of the second woman who "helped" me AND the incorrect order. Finishing my work day, I headed back to the store to see if I couldn't at least bring to the attention of management the attitude of the woman who had berated me for my lack of knowledge. As the store was much busier in the afternoon than it was in the morning, I was made to park at the side of the building . That's where I noticed a large door specifically FOR Rapid Pickup. That door is not visible from the front of the store, nor is there signage indicating it exists . While waiting to speak to a manager, I noticed the shelf that my bag had been sitting on had a sign denoting Rapid Pickup, but it faced the side door and not the lobby. I was introduced to a young man named Darius, who was apparently the afternoon manager. I explained the scenario, and after a few minutes, he offered me a free meal in reparations for the behavior of his employee. At first I thought that was a nice gesture, but I realized by his facial expression that he was just trying to get me to leave and wanted to stop the unpleasantness of being told his staff was impolite. I declined the offer and merely stated that I had hoped someone would address the behavior of the lady I met so unpleasantly early in the morning. He seemed quite uncomfortable with that option as I left. This morning, I went elsewhere for my breakfast; I will continue to go to Panera, just...
Read moreI usually have a decent experience when coming here since the food is really good. However this morning I came in with my mom to enjoy some brunch and the person who was at the register, who was a tall and bald African-American man with a beard, was particularly rude and he made it known. Everytime I added something to my order, he rolled his eyes and sighed, as if he was tired or frustrated or simply irritated with me. Mind you- the area inside wasn’t busy as it often is (It’s a Wednesday morning). Anyway, after that I went to sit with my mom all weirded out from that unpleasant experience with the man at the register and I looked at the receipt, that’s when I found out that the guy had mistaken my order in MULTIPLE ways. Firstly, he had only charged me for, and given me 1 individual oat flat bread when I ordered 3, although I let this one go, I then noticed he put down the Chipotle Chicken breakfast sandwich when I ordered the lunch version with no egg. I had to go back up and get a refund for it as well as another item he’d put on my order that I DID NOT ORDER. I got a refund for both items and used that to order the lunch chipotle chicken I was supposed to have gotten. The lady who helped me do this also seemed rude but atleast she didn’t roll her eyes. Her name was Elizabeth as I later saw on my receipt. I went back to my seat. My food eventually came out while the sandwich my mom had ordered STILL hadn’t come out. I checked the receipt once again. The guy didn’t put down the sandwich I had ordered for my mom. I had to go and buy that once again. Finally our food came out and we ate but with a very uncomfortable feeling since the service was bad and rude, let alone having mistaken our order multiple times. I had to keep putting my sandwich down to get up and have them correct something. Awful experience, definitely do not recommend dining in, atleast I will not be doing so anymore. I wasn’t able to get the guys name who took my order the first time and got it all wrong since the Second Lady who helped me kept the receipt that had his name. I don’t know if he did it purposefully or not but he sure did seem annoyed with me ordering two sandwiches, two drinks, and two desserts. Is that too much? Am I being treated wrong for ordering to have brunch with my mom? Overall, good food but unfortunately TERRIBLE...
Read moreAbout a month ago I stopped here because my wife wanted to run in and get a coffee. After about five minutes she came back out empty handed. She said she stood at the counter and none of the employees even acknowledged her presence, so she turned and left. I stopped in here today to get coffee and a couple of bagels. The dark roasted coffee was on the weak side, and the everything bagels were puny. I had my coffee and bagels inside at a table. I was a fairly regular customers at this Panera when it was at its original location, which was a little farther south from its current location. The former store had much more character and the feel of a neighborhood coffee shop. This place is missing that feel and seems more corporate. The two females behind the counter seemed more interested in gabbing with each other, a conversation that could be heard out on the floor of the store. Today being December 6, less than three weeks before Christmas, the Christmas decorations were sparse and as is the case in many businesses, the music they had playing wasn't Christmas or even pleasant music, but music that I would bet was more suited for a few of the employees' pleasure. Many employees figure if they have to work there for four to six hours, they're going to listen to the music they want to hear, and not put on music that will entice customers to stay longer and spend more. It's surprising the manager of this store doesn't realize the uptick in in store sales the store would realize if he/she made this a warm and welcoming store. Also, it wouldn't hurt the store's appeal if someone brought in a leaf blower and blew the leaves and debris that are lying against the curbing...
