Delicious beer menu....great variety of entrees.... multiple types of seating options...and attentive waiters..BJs has always been a great place for us to eat. I've been to BJs multiple times by now and finally decided to put pen to paper...or finger to phone? The one "appetizer" that never fails are the bread bowl soup options. Absolutely fantastic...each one. I've tried the tomato/basil, chili, broccoli cheddar, and the tortilla soup options, each one equally filling and delicious (even tho my personal faves are the tomato and broccoli options). The bread is perfectly toasted with a delectable taste of garlic with each bite. Every time I visit BJs...the bread bowl is a MUST. I've sampled the wings...the deep dish pizza...tavern pizza...pasta. Every single dish has a depth of flavor. It tastes fresh, every single ingredient shines and the flavors are not complicated. I do like their sitting arrangements. When you enter, you can see different sections and each section produces it's own ambience. There's the bar area with all the TVs for the late night drinkers who might get a little loud. Then the one-seat booths for the couples on dates one section over. Then the larger booths/tables for bigger groups. And then on it's own, you have a side where it's obviously for families with little ones. It's very well thought out. Their beer menu cannot be compared....their beer options are the perfect complements to their meals. The beers do not feel separate but part of the meal. I drank two 8% glasses and left feeling...well amazing. Top quality ingredients...diverse menu... appealing environment...this is a must stop if you're from McAllen or just passing by.

Nine of us decided to have dinner at BJs. While waiting at the bar it was challenging ordering a drink despite the bar was half empty. Once we got their attention the bar tender smarted off telling my wife about how to order a Lite beer given they have multiple choices. He did it in a condescending manner. Complained to management on his rude and inappropriate behavior and he acknowledged he had heard other similar complaints regarding the same bartender. Once at the table I ordered a cheese burger. It was delivered in short order except it was cold. I returned it to have it warmed up except warming it on the microwave did not help. Ending up returning the burger for which management assured me they would replace it with another to take home. That never happened. Went back today (7/1/24) and got to witness waitress dump lemonade on a couple that had just ordered pizza ..despite waitress ruining the couple's dinner, they still charged them. I reported the incident to the manager. Service has not improved and obviously staff along with management need to be replaced. Last review I received a response referencing about missing the mark and not wanting to let customers down. Not much has changed so management simply provided lip service. We had to flag our waitress every time we needed a drink because she never checked if we needed anything. Owner needs to be advised your employees are not helping your business. What a shame that service is not a priority neither is providing quality service given no improvements have been made since my last visit.

Horrible experience! The waitress barely acknowledged us. The mozzarella sticks were the only good thing from our meal. I ordered a pizza, brisket burger, and kids spaghetti. When we finally received our order we asked for ketchup, ranch, chili pepper flakes, and napkins. 15 mins later we received only the ketchup and ranch by that time we didn’t need the condiments anymore. I asked for napkins again and a refill. She leaves and we see her standing around until finally she comes back (20 minutes later) and I had to remind her about my refill. We quickly ordered our dessert (pizookie trio) which took about 30 mins to come out. We were a bit disappointed seeing the pizookies the strawberry shortcake had maybe 2 tiny strawberries, no strawberry purée, no cool whip, and half a scoop of ice cream, the chocolate chip and sugar cookie also had the tiniest scoop of icecream. Pizza & spaghetti was cold and dry we barely touched it. Our total was about 93 dollars.

I have enjoyed this place in the past. Today I had the worst service ever. I got seated and it took 10 mins to get my drink order. The hostes walked by and noticed we had been sitting there in an awkward phase playing on our phones and kids had just started watching a movie on our ipad. When she went to look for our waitress once we ordered drink I figured that she would ask us for an appetizer since we had been there a while and kids asking for food. Well I assumed wrong the waitress took off to make our drinks. That was a quick process the refills where challenging we can get to those later or plain and simple It was an act of Congress to get them. Back to the appetizer I ordered Calamari kids love it with marinara bad thing is that the food after 45 mins of wait came out before the appetizer which I cancelled because who needs finger food when the hot meal is there. You would think that was a good move NOT as we sat there with our food no one gave us silverware. So upset and keeping my coold I got tired of waiting for someone also people just seeingredients us with food and not touching it i should have kept the appetizer. Well I get up to go to the hostess stand they must have known me or I was the talk of the water cooler cause one bumped the other one and said " you ask " keeping my cool I just asked for silver ware. They said we will bring it to you but I figure I would wait in the front middle of everyone for something I have been waiting for from the beginning. I get back to the table and my kids like piranhas eating away at the spaghetti they order with their fingers and spoons. Education and manners will be overcome by hunger at this point I figured maybe I'll get a manager to see how I'm doing maybe I can express my concern of my late food the cold food I'm eating now and why are your kids eating spaghetti with spoons. But again I assumed wrong. Now the odd part is all four hostesses knew I was upset they saw several times I was past my cool but yet again no manager came over to see how was my night. I didn't mind paying the $86 dollar ticket for cold food and a horrible night. So in all if your looking to eat cold food have plenty of time to catch up on a conversation with your spouse and two kids pay outrages prices horrible service beyond all means this place took the title belt for it. Oh then I went back just to see if they took off the Calamari I had to cancel and the manager was there just chilling and the hostesses in an awkward moment for them wondering if I had talked to him they showed me I saved $10.25 for cancellation of my appetizer I got with my meal. Oh by the way never got the refills to go. So be prepared to have something to drink when you get...
