Frenchie's — Restaurant in McCall

This place was AMAZING! We stopped by on a whim on our way back home to Boise. The place was slammed, but we were still quickly seated and served with barely any wait time. The owner was working the till, and was such a kind and genuine human. We ordered an appetizer and two burgers with drinks and sides - our total was still less than $40 before tip! We couldn’t believe how incredible the prices were compared to the valley for the same amount of food. That’s not to say the food tasted “cheap” in any way whatsoever though. The food was incredible. We loved every bite. My tater tots were perfectly crisp on the outside without being overdone in the middle, the burgers were melt-in-your-mouth heavenly, and the sauce recommended by the owner paired flawlessly with our cheese curds. The decor was also so cozy and inviting. As someone who has lived in Idaho all her life, this spot immediately became one of my new favorite ”must stop at” locations when I’m in McCall; and I’m pretty picky about “favorite spots”! As a local, it's taken me way too long to appreciate what Frenchies is and has to offer. I rarely dine out in town, due to the influx of people in the summer, but this place makes it worth it to stay and eat. There isn't anything on the menu that isn't delicious. I love their BLT Po'Boy, and the beet, spinach and candied pecan salad looks amazing. My 8 year old is a picky eater, but every time we go here, he devours the chicken nuggets and fries. ( He won't even finish the same style meal at other restaurants) The owner's and staff are genuinely friendly and kind. We are always impressed at how the server's are so sweet, and the friendly hello's from the owners are appreciated. The atmosphere has been thoughtfully laid out, from the shade covers and umbrellas on the decks, to the hanging baskets and ground covers outside. The interior has interesting wall art reflecting the owners love and time in New Orleans. I look forward to trying their specials and spending more time there...

We ate an early dinner tonight at Frenchie's. I had the hot chicken sandwich and my husband and son both had burgers. The staff was pleasant from the moment we walked in. The place was bright and clean and our food came out quickly. The food was hot and delicious. Even with all these positives I probably wouldn't have left a review; however, the staff continued to go above and beyond, engaging my seven year old in conversation about his stuffed rainbow otter that he brought in with him. I'm an Idaho native and grew up coming to McCall multiple times a year. As the population has grown there are times when I feel like McCall has lost some of it's charm and hospitality but Frenchie's proved it's still there. We have plans to be back in McCall 3 times in the next few months and plan to dine...
