This review is overdue! We are BIG fans of BCV tasting Room in McKinney. After an AMAZING first visit here several months ago, (and joining their wine club that day) and many visits, events, and glasses of wine later, let me tell you why this place is SO fabulous... BCV is just on another level of ambiance and service, truly. They pay attention to details that other businesses miss. The service is warm, authentic and stellar! You are IMMEDIATELY greeted and welcomed into this establishment. The staff is truly knowledgable about the wine they serve. The ambiance is refined, comfortable and BEAUTIFUL! Bar seating, tables, couches, and super comfy outdoor furniture gives you so many options of where to cozy up and sip. Quite frankly I LOVE that this place is 21yrs and up. Its lovely relaxing with wine, listening to music, and socializing without kiddos running amuck. No offense parents but it IS a wine bar right? BCV hosts fantastic events that are well organized, creative and FUN and will keep you coming back for more! THANK YOU BCV for having the BEST wine on the square and for being our new favorite place!! We are SO glad you are here!!!...
Read moreI agree with other reviews. We did the $25 tasting for 5 wines, we each had a glass and we had the hummus and veggie plate. Total with tip was $130 which we felt was very over priced for what we actually got. The tasting pours were very small (just a sip size) and for some reason the person doing it kept giving my boyfriend more than me. Even when he mentioned I’m the wine person. We put our glasses side by side and he got significantly more than I did. I also agree not changing glasses out when wine tasting is a huge no for me. I’ve been wine tasting many times and never has red wine gone in the same glass as a white or a rose. The lady serving was nice and knowledgeable about the wine but she seemed to be the only person working and she was slammed. The hummus plate was way over priced. It was just hummus with cucumber, peppers, carrots and pita chips. All obviously bought and taken out of packaging and put on a plate. $16 for that.
All that said the wine was very tasty. We loved the cava rose, and the Cabernet. Will we go back though?...
Read moreUpon arriving, we noticed the patio was full so we were excited at trying wine at Barons Creek. Once inside, we wandered a minute or so without any greeting. Eventually, one man passed by and said “I’ll be with y’all in a minute” which was perfectly fine so we could browse wines and food menu. A woman finally greeted us and asked if we had a reservation. It was odd that this was the first question they are told to ask. We proceeded to mention that we were just browsing the area and was interested in trying new wines! She responded that the patio was full and that most seating inside was reserved but could “‘make a few tables” available for us. The previous man who walked by us decided to chime in that “wine tasting is only available inside” which was unnecessary as the patio was completely full.
Overall the lack of friendliness and welcomeness to walk in patrons immediately turned us off and our group of 4 went to a near by winery which was fantastic and made up for this unprofessional interaction by...
