Aveline is a Dream!!
My day started not knowing what I wanted for my breakfasty lunch (I’m a late eater). At some point in figuring out what I wanted to make I realized I wanted to go out for pancakes.
Today is a New Moon eclipse. It’s the 2nd Bird (Virgo) moon in a row. Very rare, and uncommon which flips the pancake on the Sun Moon lunar solar cycles.
So pancakes seemed like a great adventure. In my mind I’m there, I’m literally and figuratively up for it.
But finding pancakes 🥞 in Mac is not what it used to be. Cyprus used to have them with pomegranate syrup but no more.
The diner used to do them eons ago but now they do waffles. Where-oh-where to get a classic pancake stack? That’s the dilemma and the Sunday brunch clock is ticking.
If you have a sister Linda then you'll know why I called my sister Linda for suggestions.
She didn’t take too long to suggedt the brand Aveline downtown on the eponymous 3rd St.
Of course I immediately went to Google Maps to check out the days, hours and menu. They are now newly opened and serving breakgast til 3PM on Sunday. And they serve several pancake 🥞 options.
It’s about a ten minute drive and the earlier fall season drizzle has ebbed. The sun is out and I get perfect parking on the street near the door.
It’s a new place in an area with old memories of wine bars and restaurants past. As I enter the fresh atmosphere is absolutely delightful.
From the greeter to the seater I’m told they are in a 15 minute wait but they still gave me a table.
From a window seat I admire the wonderful atmosphere with beautiful arts and chandelier. Aveline evokes a cozy luxe vibe with leather seats and dark wood tables.
The hostess brinks me water and offers coffee. ☕️ Turns out the coffee is fresh brewed Americano from a private roaster so I say, yes.
When coffee arrives it is not a disappointment but a pleasant surprise at how very, very good it is.
My “classic pancake stack” with a side scramble comes next. When it turns out the pancakes aren’t perfect my attentive server whisks them away bringing me pancake perfection in short-order.
All-in-all I’m still finishing my pancakes and sipping the remains of my coffee and already planning to come back very soon.
The details: there’s great parking on a busy Sunday, accessibility if you need it, great service, friendly, engaging staff, a warm coziness in a refined setting, superb “private roaster” coffee, plenty of fantastic menu options, and a delicious stack of classic pancakes!
Mission accomplished. Thank you Aveline. I’m not done at my table yet but I’ll definitely be coming back and bringing a flock of family and friends.
I’m getting pastries from the integrated bakery to take away for my next stop at my as a thank to my sister Linda and to see my Mom.
Extra big kudos to my server Misty.
Happy New Bird 🐦⬛🖤🥞☕️ Moon No.2. Tomorrow is the Fall...

Read moreThis place won't last based off the service alone. We waited several minutes to be greeted and several more to be seated. Once seated we were asked if we wanted water, which never arrived. The table seated after us was visited twice while we sat waiting. After 15 minutes I decided to go down the road to a locallly owned business. Research Homage, Reno and you won't want to...
