VERY rude staff. I have had good tater tots, and a fine stew here. You will notice, however, well founded complaints here about the service in this business, especially on yelp. I have to concur: two of the several restaurant staff members have been so consistently (to me and others) violently (slamming glasses, attacking polite utterances with interruptions, barking "I'm BUSY" in response to customers simply waiting in polite and patient silence, violent, unprovoked scowls, etc.) and selectively (they behave decently to select customers) RUDE that I and many others who have been nothing but patient and polite with these two have decided to post our experiences here, and not come back. Again, we have all suffered this behavior without having been anything but calm, patient and polite with these two. The experience for me has soured my taste for the entire business such that I will no longer be staying in the hotel, as these two work in the building shared with the hotel, plying its elevators and stairways. Please post here if you, too suffer unprovoked rudeness from problematic restaurant/ bar servers here. I have heard four other customers turn and talk to me about this weird behavior to me on three occasions, and these customers all noted that the rudeness was selective, and it was severe enough for these people never to want to come back. We have seen this behavior consistently from these two over an extended period of visits each, at several separate ours of the day, days of the week, and in several rooms within the building. This business is connected to a very lovely hotel, so I attempted to avoid the restaurant in the evening to avoid the behavior of the foul evening shift worker, only to come across an almost equally rude server on the day shift. Hiring help may be a challenge, but (luckily) I and others have found plenty of businesses in the area that do not employ people like these two. When we saw this violently rude and completely unprovoked behavior, we all spontaneously and discretely shared tips on businesses in town where we hand not seen any poor behavior. It's a shame as well because the rest of the staff (the majority) at this business behaves normally to extremely kindly. Indeed, the private comments I have received in response to this review show that several others who have suffered the same rudeness that I have by the two restaurant/bar servers in question find this review to be very clear indeed. A response by a hotel manager (not mentioning the well documented abuse dished out very regularly by two servers here who do not work for the hotel, but for the eating and drinking establishments) seems to be the only confusing...

Just left a little while ago. Father’s Day 2025. Showed up a little after 12pm. Got a table immediately on roof and waited in line to order. 2 adults and 3 kids. I ordered 2 kids food items and 4 appetizer items. We know this is a busy place, and understand it may take some time to get food. 1pm rolls around, start seeing people behind me in line get food. I think ours has to be close. 1:30 rolls around, I go inside and get another drink and waitress (behind bar service only now) says food is done and will be up any moment. Wait even longer, no food. Finally ask a server bringing up other food, say that we were told our food is done. He was nice and said he’d look for it. 5 minutes later the bartender comes out and says kitchen never got the order. Weird because her screen had confirmation kitchen completed the order. She said our food was never made. This was now just before 2pm. Our kids started getting upset, hell I was upset. She said she could refund us if we wanted to leave. At this point we needed to leave and get home, knowing it could be another hour to get food. I already closed out my tab, she refunded me food price but not the tip. I appreciate her but they should not get a tip. No manager even talked to us, they simply said sorry. It’s not our bartenders fault it’s got to be the management. I know it’s a busy place, but honestly when it comes down to it, they put their entire service on their waiters and waitresses and run them ragged, then when something happens the management doesn’t do shit and doesn’t care about the customer. We went as a family for Father’s Day and I ordered whatever my family wanted from the menu, I was ready to spend as much money on food and drinks for a good time. They didn’t even make our food and nearly 2 hours after I ordered they said sorry. It just blows my mind how this place is operated. I’ve been here before plenty of times with long wait times, atleast that was when people served at your table and checked on you. Now you got to order at the bar and then hope the freaking place communicates with itself and someone actually makes your food.

My Father’s Day will still be fun, but that sure threw a freaking...

Very Disappointed – Expected Better from McMenamins

My friend and I recently dined at McMenamins and ordered the seasonal Thai chicken curry over rice and vegetables. While the flavor of the curry was enjoyable, the rice was extremely hard and dry—so much so that it was nearly inedible. When we mentioned it to our server, she admitted she had the same dish for lunch and experienced the exact same issue. She also shared that other customers had complained and that she had brought it to the kitchen’s attention earlier in the day.

What’s upsetting is that despite being aware of the problem, they still knowingly served us the dish with hard, dry rice. That level of disregard for quality and customer experience is incredibly disappointing. We weren’t offered a replacement or even a small gesture like a discount—we paid full price for food we couldn’t eat. I ended up picking out the chicken and leaving the rest behind.

It’s one thing for a kitchen to make a mistake, but knowingly serving subpar food crosses a line. We expected better from McMenamins. This experience left a very bad taste—literally and figuratively—and we’re...

I love McMenamins and have been looking forward to stamping this location in my passport since it is so far away from me (Astoria). The staff were mostly new, which is understandable and thus why I forgave the chicken fried stake that was so burned that the knife wouldn't cut it, and the over easy egg that was so hard that the yolk was burned. I've never seen that before. They were kind and refunded me, especially since I couldn't eat it. I left a note for the cook to take it as a learning experience and that I wasn't mad. We all mess up. No biggie. Honestly, what really made me mad was coming down there and having them not stamp my passport because I didn't stay the night there. All of their bars etc were closed. I spent money there (bought other items and food) and still no stamp. You would have thought that they would have at least been thankful for the 4 hour drive to get there. I am not sure if I will ever go back to this location again. There's just no need.

Cute little pub on the ground floor of a hotel. They had live music playing upstairs, blues & jazz. They were short staffed, but they were doing their best & checked in regularly. We got their electric Seoul steak tacos. Holy cow they were fantastic! The beef was super tender & the toppings really complimented the Korean beef flavor. The chips were also good. We'd both get those again in a heartbeat. (I got mine without onions -hence the wooden stick in the photo) The others got a salad & a burger that they enjoyed. There is a rooftop bar at the hotel that you should also go check out. You can either walk the 70 flights of stairs like we did, or ask where the elevator is. Lol! The hotel hallways, room doors, & stairwells are very uniquely decorated/painted, so it might be worth it to you to take the stairs too.

I love Mcmenamins and everything about it BUT the McMinnville location has lost their MOJO over the last couple years. I have spent holidays, celebrations and just the average Tuesday there and always returned BUT this is the second time in 2 consecutive visits that it has been just awful. Portion sizes are smaller and sloppy. Quality is just not there anymore. Care and attention to detail is gone. I ordered the neon burger that comes with blue cheese and bacon. They never added the blue cheese . It's what the burger is! Pretzel sticks are now 1/2 the size they used to be and when we asked for mustard, they brought a messy bottle (as pictured). There are plenty of other locations to get the Mcmenamins experience. You may want to just use this location for photos, it's not worth the money for what you're served.
