My family and I have been coming to this location for at least 7 years. The staff has always been so kind, full of energy and helpful. The most recent time I came in, the staff was far from that unfortunately. I called ahead to place an order to be picked up as I was driving toward the location. The phone rang for about 2 minutes and finally, when an employee picked, all I got was “Please hold” and then, I’m assuming, the phone was just placed down as I could here all the noise in the background. After being on hold for around 10-15 minutes, I actually arrived at the location. When I walked in, still on hold mind you, there were a few customers in the store, but nothing that looked like someone couldn’t have taken my order over the phone. After ordering, in store now, I finally hung up the phone (still on hold!!!)

Read moreStopped in to Penn Station East Coast Subs on Lindbergh in Mehlville, Mo. As we were checking out, we asked about a military discount, as every other Penn Station we've ever been to has had one. The woman ringing us up (first initial V.) stated that my significant other had to be in uniform, because "they've had lots of people try to abuse the discount." I mentioned that he has a picture ID that identifies him as military: she said she wouldn't honor the policy. I mentioned that the policy made no sense whatsoever -- she could check his military ID and driver's license (two picture IDs) to make sure that he was who he said he was -- she still wouldn't budge.
Good thing that they don't offer a professional swimmer's discount: unless you dropped by in a swimsuit, you'd be out of luck, no matter what kind of ID you had.
Her overall attitude, combined with the mediocre sandwiches and the less-than-stellar cleanliness, means we'll never stop...
Read moreI ordered the Italian. When you looking at the menu on the wall, not once does it says mayo is included, so the menu is disleading. Ordered my sandwich to go but let them know I’d eat it there and take the rest to go. I ordered a large, and received a regular. When I asked them about it they told me it was a large and looked at me like I was crazy. They took it back and added a super small portion. It had an insane amount of mayo on it and I never asked for mayo. At that point I didn’t even want to bring up the mayo because of the response I got the first time. The sandwich was barely cut so when I picked it up, it completely fell apart. On top of that it was made for dine-in so even if I did enjoy it, I couldn’t take it to go like asked in the first place. The two lady’s working there looked like they hated their jobs. Crazy part is I paid $25 for that experience.
