I'd like to begin by saying I never like to leave a bad review, but I'm hoping this will be viewed more as constructive criticism than a bad review because I've been going to Tucker's locations for at least 20 years now, and this was just an unfortunate series of events. To start, we ordered waters with no ice, but they arrived with ice in them. No big deal. They didn't have the wine I wanted paired with my steak. Again, it's no big deal. Our server was new and had a few hiccups, but for being new, she was pretty good and very sweet. Our salads were good, but our dinners came out less than 3 minutes after salads and bread. It's kind of a bummer when you want to dive into the hot food but not waste more than half our salads. Bothersome, but again, not a huge deal. We ordered our steaks medium rare and medium. We received a well-done steak and a medium well steak. This was frustrating because we were really craving our steak dinners in celebration of our wedding anniversary, and both of us were very disappointed. Being steaks are so expensive we didn't want to send them back and be those people, so we gnawed through the tough steaks for as long as we could stand before asking for to go boxes. Oh, and I almost forgot to mention our baked potatoes. I ordered mine with the works, but it only came out with butter and sour cream. Once again, not a big deal. I asked for the rest, and she brought it out for me to add myself. My wife asked for her butter and sour cream to be on the side as she typically doesn't want much of them. They were down inside the split baked potato. Then we had the ultra loud and obnoxious large party next to us. They were a lot. All of these things seem small, and most of them are, but when compounded on what should be a beautiful celebration, we both left very disappointed and let down by an establishment that we have both enjoyed many times before. I still left 25% for our server, who was handling a busy section rather well. Unfortunately, this experience is one we will remember for the wrong reasons. We will go somewhere else for a make-up anniversary dinner soon. I hope these issues are addressed and others have better experiences...
Read moreUnfortunately, I have to update my excellent review from 10 months ago and not sure I will go back to this location ever again. We visited on Saturday and ordered our normal lunch, every 3 weeks at minimum. We have had a few bad experiences these last few times, but Saturday took the cake. I ordered my normal filet, no sauce since I am gluten free. My husband ordered his normal strip steak and the server confirmed the sauce was fine with him and he said yes. Fast forward at least 30 minutes, they were slammed. She drops our steaks off and I look at my husbands and the sauce is in a plastic cup on the side. Their steak sauce they cook the steak in. Has anyone ever received their steak like that or am I the only one confused? Well, we have not and since this is our favorite place, we eat here alot. I flagged her down since she never returned and then I expressed my concerns about receiving his steak like that. With a very RUDE attitude she didn't understand why I was complaining. Acting if it wasn't a big deal that the sauce was put on the side. With regret, she says FINE, I will let my manager know. No manager ever came by and she never asked how we were doing or brought it up again. We had to hand motion we wanted our check. I didn't even get my receipt back when I paid with cash, with no cash discount or mention of anything was wrong. I hate to say it, but for the first time in my life, I did not leave a tip. A tip is not part of our bill it is a thank you for decent service and I start at 20%, all you have to do is keep it. As a former server for many years, I just don't understand people being in this field with that attitude. She should have caught that mistake even if it wasn't hers and even if she planned on serving it due to the delays and waiting another 30 minutes, she should have mentioned it and given us the option, not ignore the obvious and then get offended when I question it. Sorry Tuckers, in this economy, you have to do way better, so many other...
Read moreDined here tonight for the 2nd time because the first time was pretty good and it couldn't have been worse if they tried. Apparently all their "signature" steaks comes with a "special" sauce and when I aksed which steaks those were I was told all of them did. So I asked for mine to not be grilled in such sauce and I was served with it anyway which to me isn't a good taste or flavor. I typically never send food back but I did day something and the server acknowledged she made a mistake which I had absolutely no problem with whatsoever, we all make mistakes and had no issue at all as I was in no hurry. However when the replacement was brought out it was an unpleasant grey color and the taste was as bad if not worse than the color. I had exactly 2 bites from each piece of beef and it was at that point the rest of the service was basically cut off. We were seated at the bar and it was during dinner rush (530-630) and they entirely skipped us and then gave us an attitude as if we had offended them. I told the girl it looked and tasted as tho it had been microwaved and they kind of laughed and said they don't have a microwave. I didn't have any issue with any of this until they simply left it sitting there for 30 minutes until I asked for the bill and she said she was waiting on the manager and when he was told he didn't so much as bother talking to me one bit nor did he even bother to look at the work his kitchen produced and simply said give them 75% off. My biggest regret was not taking a pic because that would have been great to have to share here. Unfortunately it wasn't the awful steak that prompted this review it was more of the treatment afterwards. Sad to see out of a place that does so much business. Sadly I won't return and I guess at the end of the day it says a lot about the food they serve, especially when you have to drench your beef in some sauce to make it half way edible. Save your money for something better you'll...
