I didn’t want to leave a bad review, but my husband was steaming the entire ride home. It started out great, we were seated in a quiet spot and quickly ordered our drinks. However, when it came time for food, my husband was rushed more than once. “Do you need more time?” “Ok, for your entree…?!” “Off this page here!”
My husband struggles to read. He was doing his very best to move quickly. He had lost the exact name of what he was looking to order and skimming to find it. The pressure made it worse.
Then, they sat 3 very large parties around us, and it became chaos quickly. I understand lunch rush, but maybe spacing parties out a little more would be more ideal. You couldn’t hear yourself think.
After, they unfortunately brought out the wrong food for my husband, then brought the correct food. Manager was very apologetic, all seemed resolved. It was delicious, but when it came time to pay, they had the wrong order on the receipt. They charged us over by about $10. We were the ones to point it out, but it happens, no biggie, fix it, right? Wrong.
They had little to no knowledge on how to fix it correctly. My husband was standing there waiting to pay for about 15-20 minutes. Our autistic child was having a meltdown (no one’s fault, but just added to the stress), and they didn’t resolve it correctly, stating “just sign here, I’ll fix it later.” “There, I took drinks off and it brought it close enough . I’m happy with that if you’re happy with that.”
Terrible chaotic environment, definitely don’t recommend around dinner time for anyone who may have special needs, I felt especially bad for management. Need more training on how to be kind and patient to those who move slower when ordering and more training on the POS. It should have been comped after all of the mess-ups, if I’m being honest, and I am NOT the Karen you’re envisioning. I am a working class, average mid 20s customer.
Friendly’s won’t be a place we visit again. Childhood memories of the place were much better. I’m...
Read moreI don't know what these people are talking about saying they're experience was bad. I was there on Jan 2nd with my Sister and niece whom were out of town and suggested Friendly's and we had an Amazing time! We arrived about 6:30 and the place was packed. We were surprised to get a seat within 2 minutes. I'm a server myself and my niece used to be one and we were in awe with our server Henry. He had, what seemed majority of the tables in the restaurant and I was watching him at the tables around us how he was so polite, cordial and professional yet down to earth and genuinely friendly. He took his time with every table making them feel comfortable and important. He arrived at our table in a very reasonable amount of time to take our drink order and they came out surprisingly fast. He helped my sister by making suggestions from the menu. He was taking orders from so many tables plus he was serving food and drinks! He never once seemed frazzled or rushed. Our food came out I feel in a timely manner providing how busy they were and it was actually pretty Good! I've been known to be a food snob and I really liked it for the type of restaurant it was. It's a diner type atmosphere with diner type food. Reminds me of Shoney's Big Boys. The menu is pretty yummy looking with a lot of foods to chose from, I wanted one of everything! My niece and I split a make your own burger, you can also chose your bread! It came out already split for us with fries and it was delicious! My sister enjoyed her Heinz 57 burger and soup. Henry made sure to refill our drinks before they were empty and the Manager (Wish to have remembered his name, sorry) even came around asking how everything was. Right down to the ice cream for dessert, everything was just Perfect! I told Henry if I had my own restaurant I would hire him for I saw he was an Absolute Great Asset to Friendly's. I will most certainly return :) Thank you Friendly's for being part of the wonderful memories with my...
Read moreMediocre at best. The menu was atrocious. First of all, they were filthy. Covered in dried food. Gross. The organization of the menu read awful. One page had things on it that you couldnt find in the main part of the menu. The waitress had to get a "menu insert" to make it make sense. I never expected it to be amazing since Friendly's never really was, at least for food anyways. Decent enough but not award winning, which is fine. I knew that. You kinda go for the ice cream anyways. Ice cream is ice cream, can't really mess that up. Or can you?? But getting a sloppy cut apple in my child's meal was very disappointing. The presentation of the food was sloppy. The coleslaw was thrown in the side bowl so carelessly that it fell off the side and into the food. The apple, well, you see the picture, disgraceful. The happy ending sundae for my child was melted and didn't look like a happy face. More like a melting owl. I'm not sure what went wrong with the fries but five orders of fries should come out on five plates. It's not rocket science. We were missing one side of fries and it took awhile to come out. The place wasn't that busy when we showed at all, one other solo customer. They had just gotten done a rush, said the waitress. But the place was dirty and mangled and there were no efforts to clean it up by the staff. The waitress seemed blah. Nice enough but not interested in the job. When we asked for water refills, she came with a pitcher and just left it on the table for me to do myself. We won't be back. It's a shame. We wanted to share a spot from our childhood with our kids and it was disappointing. And I didn't even have that high of...
