Went here with my wife, my cousin and her husband on vacation. It smelled great from outside and they claimed to have won awards for their "world famous" ribs. Now, I'm from Kansas City, and I expected some great dry rub ribs... It's what Memphis is famous for... When they brought my plate out, the ribs were slathered in BBQ, pretty good BBQ sauce, however...if you're expecting "Award winning" or "World Famous" I wouldn't. The ribs were extremely undercooked... In the sense that I could not just pull the bone out of the meat. I had to use a fork and knife to separate the ribs and then cut the meat off the bone. My wife and cousin ordered the pulled pork sandwich, which my wife said was just the rib meat, not truly pulled pork from a Butt. They also would not let her substitute hush puppies instead of the chips. The chips were nasty...hard and tasted like old grease. Their meal also came with coleslaw...that came in a tiny condiment container which was basically a tablespoon maybe 2 of coleslaw. My cousin's husband ordered the philly cheese steak and said it was nothing special, and there were hardly any peppers or onions on the sandwich. When the check came, they automatically added a mandatory 20% gratuity to our check that was not advertised anywhere. We were not happy For my ribs, my wife sandwich and my 2 jack and cokes, our bill, with the mandatory gratuity was $92... Way overpriced for what we got. Total tourist trap... Although the BBQ sauce was good, you might stay away from the ribs, cheese steak sandwich and pulled pork sandwiches, if you do decide to roll the dice and go there... The BBQ sauce was good, and would probably go well with the "half chicken" dinner, but I can't speak to how good the chicken is... Stay away from the chips at all costs.. Here are a few pick off how the ribs were absolutely undercooked and not fall off the bone as you would expect from award winning or World Famous ribs anywhere...

**Alfred's on Beale Street, Memphis - A Perfect Blend of Ambiance, Cuisine, and Music** My visit to Alfred's on Beale Street was a truly memorable experience, combining great food, captivating music, and a stunning setting. Sitting on the patio overlooking Beale Street at sunset was beautiful, offering a perfect vantage point to soak in the vibrant atmosphere of this iconic location. I decided to try the Cajun Catfish, which was an excellent choice. The catfish was perfectly seasoned with a delightful Cajun kick, and every bite was a testament to the chef's skill. Paired with well-crafted cocktails, the meal was thoroughly enjoyable and satisfying. The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the live blues band playing downstairs. Their fantastic performance provided the perfect soundtrack to our meal, enhancing the overall experience with soulful tunes that embody the spirit of Beale Street. In summary, Alfred's on Beale Street is a must-visit spot in Memphis. The combination of a beautiful patio view, delicious Cajun Catfish, refreshing cocktails, and outstanding live music creates an atmosphere that is both relaxing and entertaining. I highly recommend Alfred's for anyone looking to enjoy the best of what Beale Street has to offer.

Was in town for a conference at the Peabody Hotel and a group of 6 of us went into Alfreds on a Monday night and ordered drinks. Mind you the place was empty as we literally were the only patrons there. One of my group mates orders a Long Beach which she stated was not mixed right and I ordered a Long Island which was terrible but we drank them anyway.

30 minutes later another group of 6 from our conference joined us and ordered drinks and food. Some of the individuals from our first group ordered a second round - the exact same drinks. My companion stated her drink was worse than the first and my Long Island tasted watered down like a pre-mix for 18 yr olds. A third individual from the second group ordered a margarita which had salt floating in the bottom of the cup like the bartender literally poured salt in the drink versus the salt being on the rim. I took the Long Beach to the bartender to let her know that there was something wrong with this drink and ask what she put in it. She goes on to tell me what all the bar associates did for us (I.e., change the music and make a Long Island w/ tequila) and how Long Islands don’t have tequila only vodka, triple sec and some other liquor. I’ve been drinking LITs forever and have never heard any bs such as that. She ran down this list like we shouldn’t be complaining and should be grateful or something - yea I don’t think so!!

Mind you this place was empty when we got there at 9p and we were the only reason she made any type of money that night. Long story short she was one of the worst bartenders I have ever come across in attitude and mixology skills and I would never recommend patronizing this joint if she is there. Her name might be Karen idk - skinny, white, black haired chick. Our server J was the only bright spot so thumbs up to her, but we will be finding a different spot to patronize for the rest of the conference. Maybe there was a reason the bar was empty and she was working on a...

The atmosphere at Alfred's is absolutely beautiful, and that's what drew us in. We were a big group, nine people, and we loved the view from the roof top, but the service is where it goes down hill. Our waiter was very nice, but his service was terrible. Someone in our group had asked what beer was on tap, and he listed off three beers and said the bar downstairs has more, but the bar on the roof top only has those three on tap, so this person ordered one of the beers from the roof top bar. After everyone had ordered drinks, we waited for close to 20 minutes for our drinks. In that time, we looked over at the bartender multiple times and he was watching the football game on the tv behind him and was not making any drinks for anyone. Our waiter came back upstairs with our drinks that were actually made from the downstairs bar, after he had said they would be made at the upstairs bar, so this person in our group settled with a beer that he was told to pick from a small list, when in fact they came from the bar that had more options. We ordered our food, three people had ordered Caesar salad, and when our food came only one person got their Caesar salad. Luckily only one person was charged for the salad, but it was the wrong person. A couple people ordered appitizers, they came just before our main meals, and we didn't have any cutlery. Someone from our group had to go over to our waiter and ask for cutlery. A waitress came to help our waiter distribute our food and she was not very pleasant. She just handed us our plates and when we said thank you she didn't say anything. We finished our meals and paid. The food was good, but the service...
