The wife and I were at wine race and were standing outside Tin Roof so I was dispatched to procure beer and Bloody Marys. I sat at the bar and waited patiently to be served. When I walked in there were roughly twenty people in line at the bar and three bartenders. After about 10 minutes a mohawked gentleman acknowledged me and indicated he would “be with me in a minute.” He then proceeded to wait on people who came in after I did. A blonde lady who was at the opposite end of the bar proceeded to wait on all the individuals at the same side of the bar so at this point there have been two rounds of people waited on while I still patiently waited. There was a younger dark haired gentleman who was working the other side of the bar who never acknowledged me. After another 20 minutes a couple sat next to me and I advised them that it might be a bit before they'd get service. Within a minute or two of them sitting down the dark haired gentleman came over and asked them what they were having. At this point I blew a gasket and went to the front and asked to speak to the manager. I explained my plight to the first young lady I spoke with who apparently found it all very amusing. Then the blonde lady behind the bar copped an attitude and advised me that they “didn’t do racism.” I explained to her that my experience at that point was quite the contrary. She continued to argue with me and said in not so many words that I should get over it. Finally the Mohawked gentleman came out and gave me a bunch of excuses about them being busy and the dark haired gentleman being new. He apologized and gave me my drinks for free. Read moreI went to a #Yelp901-sponsored event and had an amazing experience.
Firstly, I loved the setting on Beale Street at the new Tin Roof restaurant.
The building designers knocked the walls out of ground floor of the old Hard Rock Cafe. It's now SO open and airy. The Feng Shui is SO much better!
I adored the upstairs area as the setting for the CMYE party - it would be a great space to rent out for a casual private party.
OKAY...SOOOOO...THE FOOD...WAS...DELICIOUS!!
I write that in all caps because I was expecting bar food, not prawns, brisket and bread pudding.
A staffer told me this is their regular food. I just didn't expect that at a laid back venue with bands that perform regularly.
The brisket LITERALLY melts in your mouth. It was perfectly seasoned AND they have it every Monday. I love that they have set meals for each specific day of the week. Very Southern.
The staff was particularly nice and every time they delivered a dish, they told you the name of the dish and ingredients.
They had a cover band performing on the ground floor and it served as a neat backdrop. He was singing his little heart out.
I rolled out of that place, fat and happy!
THANKS...
Read moreI went here about a month ago and I still can’t get over how negative of a restaurant experience this was. The upstairs bathroom has a stall without a door and the door to the bathroom doesn’t lock. Tons of flies and wet toilet paper. The bathroom downstairs wasn’t much better with bugs and when I was doing my business the lights automatically turned off. I was with a group with a lot of vegetarians and they were very unaccommodating. They had “salad” which was just lettuce croutons and ranch and store bought buns for my friends. The chicken tacos were just awful most of the meat was either raw or had bones in it. Poor service when I ordered a salad they gave me the wrong one and forgot the dressing as well. Lastly, we came to see scheduled live music and the entire 2 hours we were there the band showed up when we left. The best part of all of it was how the staff that we interacted with did little to nothing to create and better experience. I highly don’t recommend and will not be returning by far hands down the worst restaurant...
