American Deli — Restaurant in Memphis

We have a hard and fast rule of not going to restaurants that have no locals in the store when we arrive. Unfortunately, this lunch was chosen by a frustrated driver, and we had toddlers with us, so we were committed. We had the store to ourselves for the entire visit, at 1pm on a Saturday in December. No other customer ever came for dine-in (2 carryout orders). The gyro had only one slice of beef, and the pita was stale (hard edges). It was mostly filled with onion and lettuce, with 1.5 slices of tomato. The tzatziki sauce was average, at best, with no strong flavors, good or bad. My husband described the wings as very average. They originally gave us bone- in wings, not boneless, but made it right. My teenager had the tilapia and thought it was not bad, just different from any fish she has tried. Fries were never hot, although the chicken tenders were so hot we had to wait for it to cool. No other food was beyond warm. I just left from this location and the young ladies at the windows were extremely unprofessional. When I approached the window, after waiting a few minutes to be acknowledged, she finally asked me to hold and then came back a few minutes later and said “go ahead..”. When I came to the window, they were not friendly, didn’t say much of anything to me, just the total. Barely reached her arm out the window to give me my card back. They followed that by pouring a huge amount of seasoning on the fries. Like they were covered…. I waited an additional 5 more minutes for them to even come back to the window and acknowledge me after honking twice. I told them it was entirely too much seasoning. They did NOT give me new order but just shook up the fries in the box. I guess they thought I was just as dumb as they were to not realize what they did. Very rude and disrespectful to do that to a paying customer and I would have went in to further handle it but luckily for us all, I had more important things to tend to, after them making me late by wasting my time and playing in my face....

I arrive at this location and upon pulling up to the intercom, the lady immediately told me to come back in 20 minutes. She did not say my apologies for the wait or inconvenience or anything. I came back an hour later and ordered my food. I asked for a complimentary ranch just for having to come back. The lady explained that I could've went to another location.But she did accommodate me with a ranch.I explained to her that I would not go to another location because that location was closer. Sometimes you have to meet the customer halfway.I think that was very unprofessional.Her customer service was horrible. Upon leaving, I began to eat my burger. The quality of the meat is horrible 😫. It was thick, chewy, and low quality. Whatever vendor that you get your meat from should be changed. I wasted my money & will give the food to stray dogs 🐕. I will never eat at this location or order another burger. ...
