Love this place. This time we had the Memphis bbq ribs, fried green tomatoes and gumbo. It was as fabulous as last time. Service was spot on. Super nice folks work here and a great bartender. Updated photos attached. Fabulous bbq (the best I’ve ever had!) and a must stop while in the area. We walked up and down Beale St before deciding on this place. Service was just a bit slow and we had to go to the bar to get the waitress’s attention to order. But it was worth the wait. We had the Crawfish and Shrimp ÉtouffĂ©e, Memphis Style Ribs, Champion Gumbo, and Pulled Pork. All were delicious. The Gumbo and ÉtouffĂ©e had just the perfect amount of “heat”. The BBQ chicken breast was dry and seemed overcooked. It didn’t have any sauce and was served over potatoes with just seasoning. The rice that was served with the catfish was undercooked and actually crunchy. For desert we had the Pecan Pie, which was clearly store-bought with a side of cool whip. The desert needs to be kicked up quite a bit to be on-par with the meal. Skip desert and grab an ice cream or homemade brownie sundae down the road. They offer Banana Foster cake on the menu but the waitress said they never have it. Overall a great meal that could be better with just a little more attention to detail for the price.

Dreka greeted us on the street we shopped a few min came back here to eat. To say it was DELICIOUS was an understatement. Kayla was our waitress she was great. There is such wonderful ambiance here. You can just sit there and imagine the worlds best blues players playing here. It's decorated with great pics, posters and awards. We had catfish crab cakes. BBQ pork sand, fried green tomatoes and La. Alligator bites. And talk about good portion size It's over the top. Dreka checked on us many times. What a great personality. Kayla was super attentive and very knowledgeable about the foods. The cook walked out and we all complimented him on his works of FANTASTIC food all cooked perfectly. Can't say enough about this place. If you're on Beale St in Memphis, Tn this is a must. You'll be glad you did. Thanks to all at Kings Palace Cafe for your kindness and great service and food. We appreciate you👍👍

On a family vacation, we specifically went for the Gospel Brunch that was advertised. Didn’t hear gospel music and we waited over 35 mins for our food when there was only 2 other tables of people there. Once we got our food, the French toast was one single piece of bread and a small bowl of potatoes for $13. The Spicy Fried Chicken meal was basically chicken from KFC. One member of our party waited an additional 10+ minutes for his food. We asked to speak with the manager and was told she was on the phone but when we asked again after eating, was told “she wasn’t back there”. Very disappointed in the overall experience and would not recommend.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. We came in on a busy beale street sunday night. The young man at the front let us pick a table. We picked a table next to another older couple beside the bar. There were 3 people at the bar, and two other tables in the entire place. So they were not busy at all. Two of the tables were eating dessert. One waiter came out, he took our drinks and left. Another gentleman came out right after and asked to take our drink order, my boyfriend said man another young guy already took it and we giggled and said it again. No big deal right. And he said okay well ill still be your waiter and we said okay just kinda awekwardsense he said it so rude.. He asked if we were ready to order and we said we'd like a minute to look at the menu and thank you. sense we just sat down 30 seconds ago right? He walked to the back. Another 3rd gentleman came out a few minutes later to take our drink order... at this point we just smiled and said hey we had 2 others take it already and he said ok okay ill go see who. And we sat for probably 20 minutes waiting on someone to come back. We finally got our water and tea. A fouth guy came by our table 10 minutes later and said did yall have a water and tea, we already had our drinks sitting with us. And we said yea but we have full drinks here another gentleman just gave them to us and before we could finish our sentance he grumbled irritatingly away said something under his breath from our table to the one other table.. we sat even longer. We said please and thank you and were in greta moods and were not rude about anything. So im We decided to leave. We put our jackets on and the older guy cleaning the table next to us asked if we were leaving and we said yes sir, weve waited almost an hour, dont know which of the guys are our waiter and he said something we didnt understand, my boyfriend asked im sorry brother i didnt hear you what did you say and he raised his voice and said yall go on and leave then get out of here and we were like? What? We were nice and i dont know if they all had bad customers or a manager or what the heck was going on but i will not be going back. That was incredibly rude service from every person in the building and it was uncalled for. There was no manager present, no organization on the floor for...

I haven't been here in years and it has definitely gone down hill! It used to be a very nice elegant restaurant, not anymore. They service was young girls in hoodies and casual clothes and the kitchen staff kept coming out to the dinning room in dirty old tshirts and very unkept looking. It was valentines day so I wanted to treat my girlfriend. We came to the entrance and a young woman yelled across the room "y'all just sit whereva" . I ordered the bacon rapped shrimp with rice pilaf and vegetable medley. My girlfriend ordered a salad. I also ordered sweet tea and so did my girlfriend. The tea came in big plastic cups like the kind you would find at a pizza hut. Not a nice restaurant. When the food finally arrived (after a significant wait when there was very few customers) I received five very small shrimp and while they were excellent, the rice was cold and bland and the vegetables were soggy. My girlfriends salad was good but it should be for the outrageous prices. By far the worst dining experience I've ever had there. I do not recommend and with out major changes I will never be back. I also called to see if there was a wait due to valentines day and it went straight to voice mail. If I could rate it less than a star I would. Bring back the white button up shirts and properly trained wait staff. Keep the dirty looking cooks in the back. A big...
