I truly wanted to like this place but my experience overall was less than stellar due to several factors, and to start off the weather isn't the hotels fault. But it was a very rainy & cold night, we checked in you have to call the gate to open it each time. It's $18 for a day so not terrible but its a little bit of a walk from Beale and more of the sites so if you're at the hotel, you're stuck paying for that rate plus the other lots around the city. First real complaint is communication about access on the back and side doors. If you park in the parking garage and use the back entrance, you're locked out of the back entrance, go to the side hallway and it's locked! Keep in mind it's pouring down raining, we have a baby in our arms and bags, and we're outside shaking the door at 730pm. The sign clearly says use gate cards after hours. I speak to the guy at the front desk and he tells me due to some homeless people they had to disable all the doors except the front door. Which how would I know I can't get in this hotel anywhere but the front door? Why didn't you tell me, how am I supposed to know I can't use any doors when I park in the garage, it's pouring raining, cold, and I have a crying child AND the signs are still up showing these doors can be used by a gate card. Second huge complaint was the restaurant, I was appalled at the overcharging. I kid you not 2 appetizers and 2 drinks with tip was $75!!! We had no other option at that time and the weather ect so we opted to take the food to the room.. and that little bit of food and 2 beers.. not cocktails, but with only beers was $75!! And that's not all, back to communication, the server moments before we pay for the good tells us there's a $10.40 service charge for the building?! Why didn't you tell us that BEFORE we ordered. We got a few cut up pieces of chicken and a box of cheese, grapes, and crackers and that was supposed to be charcuterie. Worst dining experience in Memphis and worst prices in the entire city for what you get. The hotel for one king bed was almost $200, a proper meal for 2 would be easily $200 here! I loved the decorations, I think the location is great, but for the value.. it's just not here at all. Unless there was some grand breakfast and some other thing they offered like compted drinks, OK maybe it'd be worth it.. But sorry this whole experience sucked. Honorable mention for Rocky Goodwin the Concierge, he's great. Lastly the room was nice with a great shower and view. I'll leave it on that good note, otherwise this place isn't exactly family friendly.

This was a trip to make up for one I didn't get to take in 2020 so I splurged a bit. I reserved a corner room for a week. King size bed, huge windows with plenty of light, not the greatest view, but that's not the hotel's fault. They have a valet, and you can park yourself, whichever you want to do. It was clean, it was quiet and the staff was helpful and attentive. I mostly walked; Beale Street was close enough as were a lot of other places on the way to Beale Street, and it was just a few blocks to get to the rail line that could take me to the National Civil Rights Museum. It's not right in the middle of everything but it's pretty close. I was never more than a few blocks away from a convenience store or a restaurant, so any basic needs could be met, and a lot of places deliver. There were a couple of issues with the elevator, both in the building and in the parking garage, but other than one night that I actually had to walk up to my room, it was a non issue. They had someone in to fix the elevator in the building right away and kept guests up to date via text. And for anyone else who has to deal with this, I do peritoneal dialysis overnight, and there was no issue with setting up my cycler or getting connected or anything along those lines. There's a thermostat in the room, so you can control the vents. You can actually turn it off when you need to connect or disconnect. The only downside is if you are sharing a room, at least in the corner room, there wasn't a way to completely close off a space within the room, so everyone else would either have to mask up or leave.

First time in Memphis. This hotel is on a great location. We stayed here from 5/28-5/30, we stayed in room 520 (King room). View of Madison Avenue (not the best view). Bed and pillows are comfortable. Just watch out and try not to bump onto the wooden corners of the bed. (Ouch!) Bathroom is clean, leak under the sink. The bathroom door has the tendency to shut. You have to place the trashcan to keep the door open. Sliding shower glass door and the tendency to slide as well. Mini fridge is inside the wooden cabinet (it gets pretty noisy at night). Having to be on the top floor of the building. At night you can hear the ventilation systems or whatever is up at the rooftop. It is updated but definitely needs another upgrade. Staff are very friendly. Email and text alerts when you check in, you can text them if you need anything. It’s right next to a parking garage. No connecting entrance from the garage. So, you have to go out the garage. Main entrance of the hotel is on Madison Avenue. Just wait in front of the door and they will unlock the door from the inside. A “Hotel Entrance” sign would be helpful. 5 minute walk to the historic Peabody hotel. Less than 5 minute walk to the AutoZone Park. About 9 minute walk to famous Beale street. Nearby Walgreens if you need any travel essentials (4 minute walk). Overall good experience with our stay! Sometimes customer service makes the difference! It makes you feel welcome!

First I booked this o the night of our arrival through Booking.com and received the room rate at a deep discount. We paid less than $20 for parking next door which was next to but unattached to the boutique hotel. We wanted to try it out bcz it stated it was a 4 star historic hotel. We parked and walked to the hotel with no luggage hoping to grab a language cart. All doors to the hotel were locked. It was 7:30pm! No one was at the front desk and the phone number given online was a non working number. Mind you my debit card was already charged for the room, that I had booked less than 2 hours prior to arrival. We were approached by several homeless men as we tried to get into any hotel main floor entrance. All doors were locked. Cafe/bar was closed at 7:30 on. A Saturday summer evening on prior to Labor Day. People were riding their bikes and skateboards in and out off the parking garage which is not secure from public walking in and out next to the parking garage gates but has locks and difficult pay through apps and then call in your code to be able to open the pedestrian doors and car gates. Felt very unsafe to leave car there. High violent crime rate along with thefts and mugging are also rampant in the area. Found this out afterwards. We had wanted to tour Beale St but by the time we got into the hotel and our things in our room it was 10pm and we had to leave early the next day to continue on my business trip. My husband and I didn’t feel safe to go out in the local area at night with our experiences just trying to get inside the hotel. ||Once we were in the facade is beautiful. Service not so good. Room was clean and pretty but very small. Small dorm style frig (no freezer space) was not turned on and would not be cold by the time we left so we asked to change rooms. Also bathroom tile cracked and one set of robes and slippers missing from room. We were given another room unpin our insistence bcz at first the front desk guy who finally returned to front desk and unlocked front door to let us in told us the frig would be cold in a few minutes. Ummmm no that’s not how they work, so he changed out room and room was nicer though still small, no broken tile but zero robes and slippers in the room this time.no worries but it was supposed to be there and advertised as part of the whole 4 star experience. Room is furnished nicely and very modern. Super small. I asked about historical hotel details. It was never a historical hotel. At all. It is a remodeled 10 year old hotel in a historical print shop building. The entire inside is modern and supposedly done in a French style, but not really. Cafe and bar closed. No one on site except one Indian man at front desk who couldn’t speak good English nor spell. I asked him to change my email after I wrote it out for him so that it was correct for my receipt. He didn’t want to be bothered and refused to correct it. Just completely misadvertised and I wished I had paid the extra $30 to stay at The Peabody which is an actual historical hotel nearby. Beds were nice and we slept well once we got settled into the room. Cost wasn’t an issue as much as the misadvertising, poor service and safety issues outside a locked unstaffed hotel in what turned out to be a crime ridden part of town. Not the same place from when I visited this same street 30 years ago and had a fantastic time back then. Sadly Not recommended at this time. Hopefully some of these issues will be addressed for a better...

I recently stayed at what initially seemed like a promising hotel for a two-night stay. However, my experience quickly took a turn for the worse when I discovered a major issue that persisted throughout my stay: the complete absence of hot water. Despite repeatedly reporting this problem to the hotel staff, no solutions were offered, leaving me extremely dissatisfied with my stay.

Upon arrival, the hotel appeared to be quite nice, with an inviting ambiance and well-maintained facilities. Unfortunately, these positive first impressions quickly faded away when I attempted to take a shower and was greeted with an icy blast of cold water. Assuming it was a temporary issue, I reported the problem to the front desk, hoping for a resolution. Little did I know that this inconvenience would persist for the entirety of my stay.

Their responses were apathetic and dismissive, offering no solutions or alternatives to rectify the situation. I expected better customer service and prompt action to resolve the problem, but it was evident that the staff either didn't care or were simply incapable of addressing the issue adequately.

Moreover, the inconvenience of enduring cold showers was compounded by the hotel's inability to provide a suitable alternative. As a paying guest, I expected to have access to basic amenities, such as hot water, to ensure a pleasant stay. Unfortunately, the management failed to deliver on this fundamental expectation, which left me feeling neglected and disrespected. The lack of hot water was not only inconvenient, but it also detracted from the overall comfort and enjoyment of my stay. Cold showers are not what one expects from a three star hotel that claims to provide a pleasant and relaxing experience. It was particularly frustrating that despite bringing up the issue multiple times to the hotel staff, they appeared unconcerned and provided no tangible solutions.

What added to my disappointment was the lack of compensatory measures from the hotel. In situations like these, it is not unreasonable to expect some form of restitution or acknowledgment for the inconvenience caused. However, the staff's indifference to my complaint was disheartening, and it left a sour taste in my mouth regarding their level of customer service.

While I acknowledge that the hotel had some positive aspects, such as its appealing ambiance and generally well-maintained facilities, the recurring problem of no hot water and the unresponsiveness of the staff overshadowed these positives. A comfortable and enjoyable stay hinges on basic amenities being functional and prompt resolution of any issues encountered, both of which were lacking in this instance.

In conclusion, I cannot recommend this hotel due to the persistent absence of hot water during my stay and the indifferent attitude displayed by the staff. When choosing accommodations, it is essential to consider not only the physical attributes of the hotel but also the responsiveness and willingness of the staff to address guest concerns. Regrettably, this hotel fell short in these critical areas, leaving me with a disappointing experience that I won't soon forget.. please avoid this hotel. I do not...
