My husband and I came in at 8pm on a Friday night, we weren't too sure as to whether we could pick our own seats or if we would be allocated a seat. A young boy (about 5 or 6) came up to us straight away and said we could sit anywhere and followed us to our seats. Same child gave us our menu and asked to take our drink order. My husband and I both ordered Coke as we didn't feel it was appropriate to ask a child what was on tap. He informed a waitress (?) that we wanted 2 cokes. Our drinks came out, young boy again and it was then that the actual waitress asked if anyone had taken care of us yet, we informed her that only the child had spoken to us. She took our order 35 minutes after our arrival.
While we were waiting for our burgers, we were able to witness the poor service and hygiene practices that this place seems to have adopted: Young waitress with long blonde hair, which was untied, spent more time on her phone in the back corner with the Mohammed Ali statue than she did taking customer orders. There were at least 3 other tables looking around and shaking their heads as they watched her texting madly. This waitress walked around occasionally, however she seemed to ignore waiting customers and always went back to her phone. The 2 bar men decided to start a 'spit ball' (chewing up pieces of paper and shooting them out with a straw, for those who are uncertain of this phrase) fight with each other. What on earth possesses someone to do this behind a bar? Both guys were a bad shot and who knows where those spit balls went?
We received our order, burger patties were a little salty and burned but still somewhat manageable. Fries were cold.
We asked for the bill and left the minimum tip (15% that was calculated on the bill) as we received minimal service, only to find that the waitress has given herself a little more of a tip when she has processed our card.
In short, we won't be coming back again or recommending this business. Like my review, there was only 1 star at this establishment and it was the charming 5 year old that we had the pleasure of meeting here. His parents should be very proud of, not only their young man but also themselves, for...
Read moreLet me first preface with my husband and his friends are HUGE WWE fans and this is what drew us to have dinner at the restaurant. The menu isn't very big, the portions were decent but overpriced. We had a party of 6 and the waitress did not inform us that they were unable to split tickets for a party of 5 or more. She just said that everyone had to be on the same check, which I thought meant that we could just split it when it came time to pay. Next, one our friends ordered the half ribs but wanted the sauce on the side. All of our entrees came out together except the ribs and the waitress never came back to check on our table. We had to flag her down and tell her hey he didn't get the rib plate that was ordered. All of the rest of us were finished with our meals, when finally she brought his plate but not how he ordered it. When it came time to pay the bill, the waitress told us that she couldn't split the check because we were a party of 5 or more. I asked to speak with the manager and the waitress came back without the manager and said that it would be more expensive for us to split the check since we would all be using cards to pay our checks. Again, I asked to speak with the manager as I didn't think her service was up to par. The manager argued with me about the rib plate not coming out when it should have since he ate the whole thing, that it must have been pretty good. I also told him that we were unsatisfied with the service and no apology from the waitress. I found out after I paid the check in full that there was a $1 credit card fee and an automatic 18% gratuity since it was party of 5 or more. Neither the waitress or manager disclosed this to me, this was not on stated on the menu anywhere. I will never recommend anyone to ever eat here. Please by-pass this restuarant and save yourself the...
Read moreThis was our first visit. It was a Saturday night about 6:00 when we sat down to order. It was very busy, normally a good sign. So, will we go back? Not sure, tbh. The food was average. My wife got the BBQ Pork Salad and onion rings. The salad was good but there were way too many red onions for most people. The onion rings were hot, crispy and had good flavor. My son and I had the ribs. I got mine cajun rubbed. Very good smoke flavor with a deep pink smoke ring, but the meat was a little dry. The cajun rub was good, but some of it was raw and uncaramelized on the outside. My son got his ribs wet and he said they were very good and not dry. The baked beans were slightly above average, but the fries were generic crinkle cut and overcooked. We never received our slaw that was supposed to come with the ribs. Portion sizes were fair. The biggest problem wasn't the food... it was the service. It took almost 15 minutes before the server came to get our drink order. It was over 40 minutes before we got our drinks. It was almost an hour before we received our food. More importantly, the server never came to check on us or to explain/apologize until I flagged her down. Granted, there is a labor shortage and she was covering the floor by herself mostly, with a little help from a bartender who seemed clueless and kept trying to bring food to the wrong tables. The one saving grace was the live music. The Beale Street Allstars were on the stage and they were amazing!! The bass player was as good as any I've ever seen, and the band was tight. The singer had a raspy tenor voice the fit the band's groove perfectly. The mix of music was classic Beale Street blues, old R&B, and classic blues-rock. If it wasn't for the band, we would have left without waiting for our food amd the rating on this review would have...
