First time here. TLDR - Average middle range Japanese place, there's probably some better in town but feeds the craving. Nothing to write home about. The place is unassuming from the outside but a nice size on the inside. The host was nice but did tell me they were short staffed and that whatever food I order would take a while even though the place was quite empty. I started with a green tea and a water. The waitress just brought a cup of green tea with a lemon on it. It would have been nice to get a pot as in most other places you can get a pot for this price, but she didn't charge me for the refill so they may be free who knows. The menu is quite big and yet after you read it there doesn't seem to be many options that you haven't had before. I then ordered the house salad with the "house Osaka dressing", the miso soup, and the yakitori chicken. The salad came in a small soup bowl that seemed very small for the price. The lettuce of the salad was is soaked in water so the dressing got watery and it was weird. And the dressing was good but nothing to write home about. The miso soup was excellent but honestly I couldn't tell if it's made from a packet or not. Finally the Yakitori chicken was great, good flavor almost like a sake glaze or something, good portion for the prize. I then ordered the Dragon Roll which came pretty fast and looked great. Presentation was neat and mostly unadorned. Texture was good, the rice was fresh and well made. However the roll didn't have much flavor. the unagi didn't come through at all. A bit overpriced for the quality. Finally I ordered Salmon Sashimi and a Tuna Roll. The sashimi was amazing, the salmon tasted fresh and fatty in a good way. It melted in your mouth like butter. The tuna roll was good the tuna was fresh, rice was good. This final set was very good. Overall, This is a very standard restaurant and that's ok. It's not great, for the prize they could do a little better presentation or portion change, but they're alright.

I'm rating their shabu shabu hot pot and service only not their other dishes. I ordered the kimchi broth, for $18.50 you get a good sized pot and protein but not enough veggies. This would be good for two small people to share or for one with a huge appetite. Broth was good, but more on the salty side. It didn't have a good balance of sweetness, sour and spicy which you'd find in a lot of Asian soups. This is far from the traditional shabu which is usually in a very light bone broth, miso or plain water which you flavor yourself with the sauces they provide. Shabu broth is usually light in flavor so you can really taste all the fresh ingredients. It's not meant to be sipped throughout your meal, it's more so to help flavor your meat during the cooking process (but there's really no right or wrong to it). The broth will slowly develop its intense, deep flavor while you dip all your meats, seafood and veggies in it, its meant for you to be enjoyed at the end when it's full of flavor and delicious goodness!! My broth ended up being way too salty after all my veggies and proteins have been stewing and cooking in it. My server was great and did an amazing job. I'd be back to try their other dishes. Found a piece of plastic in my hot pot, they basically said it's from the crab stick and o well. Then I asked for green onion garnish, they charged me extra without telling me.

This is the first local place that blew my socks off, we’re talking slap your grandma good. I took my fiancé here on a date and WOW! We started with Gyoza (pork dumplings) and the server brought them out so fast it felt like they popped out of thin air. They were the perfect flavor and crispy-ness for a fried dumpling. For dinner we had teriyaki chicken and the steak and chicken. We both got the regular size instead of the large, but I was stunned with the portion size. She’s the pregnant one, but I definite look pregnant now too because it was SO MUCH FOOD. I don’t typically eat carbs, but when I saw the fried rice I could resist a bite. Genuinely the best I’ve ever had. Plus the sauce on the side was to die for. Lastly for desert we got the fried banana with vanilla ice cream and it was fantastic! Just the right sweetness, and again, huge portion (definitely enough to share between us). I couldn’t be happier with my experience here tonight and I’ll definitely be bringing friends and family regularly. Also, thanks Emma for the awesome service! Best service on this side of the Mississippi for sure!

I come from nashville a lot to eat here when im in town but, this time I'm skeptical if I will even be coming back. Today I had a new guy serve me. I came here especially to celebrate my husband's birthday. There service was okay, the guy that served me needs more experience remembering orders (even though he wrote my orders down). The first time I ate here I ordered the beef tongue yakitori which is delicious. Osaka "sushi, YAKITORI, and shabby shabu". Maybe they should take the beef tongue off their menu because today and several other times I dine in they never have it. "YAKITORI" it's not that they sell out of the beef tongue it's just that they don't have it/prepare it. I also always order the kimchi or thai shabu shabu. The shabu shabu I had today was okay. I always get udon noodles and white rice. But, apparently the server decided to scoop me the bottom of the rice that was leftover. I and my husband bit into the rice and it was soft then very hard and chunky rice.... so imagine what it's like to bite and eat hard a* rice. I informed the server and he said he would get me new rice. I love eating my shabu shabu with rice but, he came back and told me that the rice is cooking so I would have to wait. Maybe 20 mins later still no rice..... throughout the whole service I had today I just lost my appetite and was just ready to go. Didn't even take my leftovers with me. I ordered sushi and the chefs even took long they wasn't even rolling my order. They was just standing around talking b4 even making my ONE roll. My roll was supposed to come with a sweet sauce according to the menu but I never got it. My server seemed like he was busy. Drinks took a little while to get to me. I also ordered the sparkling flower sake but he brung me the peach sake which he handed to me...then it took a while for him to bring me the right sake. When bringing me my sake he didn't hand me the sake but disturbingly decided to open MY SAKE and pour some in a small cup them SMELL my sake then walked and handed it to me.... I watched him from a booth over do it... I didn't bother talking to a manger because when I did politely f* asked they simply never came so that's that... this restaurant should work on executing their food right and better service. Very disappointed today overall. Especially asking for a manger just to tell them about my service which was even more disappointing when they never came. And this is coming from someone that owns a family restaurant so I very well understand how the restaurant business/food industry...

My daughter and I love Osaka but normally dine in. We always have a great experience when dining in. Yesterday 07/30/3025 was different. It was my daughter's birthday and I decided to pick up our order to celebrate my daughter's birthday. I spent over $100.00 plus a tip I checked my order before leaving and found that some of the liquid from the yakosobi noodles had wasted in the bag.. I Actually used the little drive thru window to pick up my order. After checking my order and seeing the liquid had wasted I asked the girl at the window for another bag and one extra yum-yum sauce. She refused to give it to me because it was an additional $.55. Mind you she only put one in the bag after ordering two orders of yakosobi noodles and actually asked for extra while making the order. I just think it wouldn't have hurt her just to give me another sauce after paying the amount of money paid plus a tip. I also called to inquire about this.but the person answered stated that a manager was not available and wouldn't be for the next 20 minutes. I do think the young lady that answered was he same person that actually worked the window. This may not seem like a big deal but she was quite rude about the situation. One more yumyum sauce shouldn't have been a big deal after spending the amount of money spent. I do understand that the restaurant has their policies but this was very unnecessary. I still love Osaka but probably want make another order...
