I'm not sure if it's under new management and/or ownership but my last 2 visits were interesting with the 2 younger Caucasian women. On one dine-in visit, I asked for another salsa as skinnier one was walking by the table. She said I don't think we give out more salsa (free), she checked and came back with the salsa and said, you can get the salsa, but there's a charge for the queso... well I didn't ask for queso! I told her I was a regular and was familiar with getting the salsa at no-charge, which I would not have had a problem with paying anyway. She then proceeds to say in a rude way that she usually works in back or bar couldn't make out which one, but the thing is I feel that part was not necessary. On another visit which was a Saturday, I ordered my regular steak bowl, this time to go plus chips and salsa, asking for an additional salsa. The guy at the register had me rung up, but you can tell she made it her business to go punch in the salsa with her body language saying, it's a charge, not free, but she never verbally said at anytime an extra salsa would cost.... again, I have no problem paying for what I want and if I don't want to pay for it I would simply say nevermind in a respectful manner. In addition, the steak was dried out and something was salty... I hope this isn't the trend they're headed towards because they have thrive on quality, fresh ingredients. Read moreRecently a group of friends and I met for dinner and unfortunately my experience wasn't that great. I was a bit early and the first to arrive so I sat at the bar and ordered a drink the bartender (she told me her name I forgot) was great. After my party arrived we got in line to order. I ordered chicken fajitas and eggrolls and was told it would be few minutes which was no problem. I asked if I needed a ticket or anything and was told no. I was the only one in my party who was waiting on an order. After waiting over 10 minutes and noticing other customers who ordered after me and who had numbers on their tables getting their food delivered to them I went to the counter to inquiry about my order. After showing them my order number and the two ladies looking at the monitor with the orders on it I was told they didn't see it and were not sure what happened. I COMPLETELY understand mistakes happen, I work in a customer service environment. I was disappointed that no apology was given, no one said sorry. I asked for a refund which was given but nothing was said, I was disappointed that what started out as a good experience ended on such...
Read moreWe have eaten at Swanky's many times, and I will give that it has been a few minutes since we have been there last. This past Friday night our usual Friday night gathering went there to eat and I have to say,, I will give pause on returning anytime soon. Our server Timothy was fantastic,, but he was stretched thin. Although there was not a crowd at all, he was the only server handling what customers there were. The other associates were just standing around talking. The food was fine, and we were patient since he was so busy, but it all could have been handled better. He was busting his hump!! So I wanted to write a review on him, and tell of one more thing. A group of 4 came in and sat, was given chips and salsa, sat and sat, and waited and waited, finally getting up and leaving.
