We have been to this Applebee's several times in the past few months and always had great service and the waitresses have always been VERY polite and very accommodating to ANY requests.
Today, however, we had a VERY poor experience here with a dark haired young man as our server. (I wish I had his name but it all went bad so fast that I didn't catch it.) I ordered a chicken sandwich and specifically stated that I would like grilled chicken instead of breaded and no mayo please. Server then proceeded to go thru every item that was included on the sandwich to ensure I wanted everything. I told him everything was fine just grilled chicken and no mayo.
When our order was delivered, by a different server, I discovered that my chicken was breaded not grilled and informed that server. She stated she would let our server know. The dark haired young man returned to our table and I informed him of the problem. He said no problem walked to the other side of the aisle and picked up a small plate. He returned and said, "I'll just take your sandwich and leave the fries." (I would have preferred he take the whole plate as is customary when there's a problem. I did not want to eat all the fries without a sandwich or wait for the sandwich and have cold fries.) I put the sandwich on the plate and as he turned around he said in a nasty, sarcastic tone and loud enough for everyone to hear, "Thanks for THROWING that sandwich on the plate for me!"
He proceeded to walk away and my husband called him back and told him that the way he spoke to me was very inappropriate. He said NOTHING and proceeded to walk away. My husband became very upset by his disrespect and asked to see the manager. By the time the manager came, we'd had enough and told the manager that the server had been disrespectful. The manager attempted to apologize but my husband told him that our dining experience had been ruined and we were finished. (We have NEVER left a restaurant like that and in over 40 years of marriage, I have never seen my husband that upset!) We left and went to another establishment for lunch.
I'm hoping this dark haired young man is no longer employed at this establishment for the benefit of others who may come here in the future. I would hate for anyone else to be treated VERY...
Read moreEvery time we order the carside to go, they always forget to give us SOMETHING. Every time I get chicken tenders basket, they forget my side fries, I called and the manager tried to play it off like it didn't come with it even though I chose two sides(I get 2 sides AT the resturant, now that I'm driving and picking it up, I don't get two full sides?). And also forgets to give ranch and coleslaw for my fathers entree.
Honestly I get their busy, but every single time we go "To-Go", something is missing. Maybe get some staff dedicated to just TO-Go orders during rush hour to make sure EVERYTHING is good with their order, cause I can't be the only customer having this problem. I always can tell the staff is rushing their ass off to get everything done, which I appreciate the hard work, but I don't appreciate how they are so busy that they can't fully fulfill an order(I'm talking about you management...)
To add on, sometimes I spend 10 to sometimes even 30+ minutes for my food to get out their door, when they said it would be ready at a scheduled time. They said they would comp the time by giving us deserts for free, which only included ONE scoop of ice cream(I ordered 5 meals, you would think they would be more considerate to give all 5 people waiting at my house for their meal to ALSO get a scoop of ice cream for waiting patiently).
We spend $100+ every time we visited them, for them to blow it off like its not their problem really pissed my family off, we won't be spending our money there any longer. If you do decide to do Car-Side-Togo, make sure you have everything first before you leave or else you may be blow off like we were about sides.
I would like to add, the floor staff who brings my food is always wonderful, and always have a good positive attitude when they bring my food, I just believe they are overworked and need more dedicated...
Read moreRidiculous. An employee that was off, came in to dine with a friend. 15 minutes after we were sat, they were sat. Took me saying something to get our waters after the same server brought the off duty employee theirs. Then a table of 8 show up… 25 minutes after we’d been sat. We gave our server our order when. 10 minutes later off duty guy gets food. 5 minutes after that the large party gets their food. We wait 10 more minutes and decide to leave. As we walked away, our food was finally coming.
I asked to speak to the manager. Mr Browne came out and seemed very disinterested in what I had to say. Would not even look at me. I wasn’t yelling nor did I have a raised voice, as I tried to tell him what was happening. I literally had to ask him if he was ok and with me so far. He said that he was already informed about the issue and had planned on comping our meal. He explained that the boneless wings were behind and taking longer. Had our server told us of this delay that she knew, we could have switched it up until the wings were ready. Communication when it comes to customer service goes a long way.At that point we were leaving, so I declined. Mr Browne did offer to wrap it up to go. I declined this as well. Not trying to get something free. I wanted reasonable service and for the manager to at least pretend that he would work with his staff on this....
