Hello just wanted to give an insight on something I seen on my FB from a server that posted she received an $200.00 dollar tip. However she posted the people information from their DC on that receipt. Now I have worked at a bank for decades. These are the following reasons why you shouldn't post things like this. While modern debit card receipts are designed to minimize the risk of theft by truncating (shortening) the card number, they can still contain enough information for someone to potentially steal your card details. This can be accomplished through various means, including skimming devices, and in some cases, even from the receipt itself if it contains more information than allowed by law. Here's a more detailed breakdown: What can be stolen from a receipt? Partial card number: While the law requires the truncation of most digits, some merchants may still print more than the last five digits, potentially exposing enough information for someone to attempt transactions. Expiration date: Although not always printed, if present, it can be used in conjunction with other stolen information. Merchant information: The merchant's name and location can be used to target the victim or create fake receipts. Transaction amount: This could be used to target a specific amount of money if other information is also obtained. Other personal information: While not directly on the receipt, if combined with other stolen information, it could lead to identity theft. How can this information be used? Skimming: Thieves may use skimming devices on ATMs or gas pumps to copy card information from the magnetic stripe, then use the information from the receipt to complete the fraudulent transaction. Reconstruction: If enough information is present on the receipt, criminals can try to piece together the full card number. Replay attacks: Some systems can allow someone to purchase something at one price and then run another transaction for a different amount using the same card details. Online fraud: Partial card information and expiration dates can be used for online purchases if the thief also has access to other personal information. What to do: Be aware of your surroundings: Be cautious of ATMs and gas pumps, and report any suspicious devices. Take your receipts: Never leave receipts behind, especially at ATMs or gas stations. Review your statements: Check for any unauthorized transactions and report them immediately. Shred receipts: Destroy receipts with personal information before throwing them away. Report suspicious activity: Report any suspected fraud to your bank or financial institution. Be careful online: Avoid clicking on suspicious links or entering your debit card information on unsecured websites. Legal protections: FACTA (Fair and Accurate Credit Transactions Act): FACTA requires truncation of debit card numbers on receipts, with only the last five digits visible. Penalties for violations: Merchants who violate FACTA can face penalties, especially if they have a large number...
Read moreFrom start to finish, just a beyond subpar experience. We checked in and then sat and watched as people came in after us, that were not on the waitlist ahead of time, be sat before us. One adult and two children should’ve been able to get in quickly but we waited 45 minutes. Our server, Taylor was fantastic. Cannot say enough good things about her service and kindness. I can however, attest that the people food running had horrible manners and were extremely rude. Another server bumped into my daughter and almost knocked her over, and not a single word was said. No apology, no excuse me, nothing. We had one kids meal which was a good portion size. A BYOB, which was pretty thin for a $14 meal.I had the turkey avocado sandwich. I wrongly assumed it would be a cold turkey sandwich but instead it was cooked, lukewarm turkey with coleslaw and avocado. The texture was extremely weird and definitely thought it would be more of a deli sandwich. The Bloody Mary was a 4/10. Hardly any salt rim, the celery I received was brown on one end. Had a bit of spice so that was nice. Overall, definitely an overpriced experience especially with how rude some of the staff members truly were.
Oh and it was absolutely freezing inside and the bathroom was a...
Read moreWent to the new location in Merriam after visiting the Brookside location for years. First impressions are over all decent. The parking situation there seems pretty odd. You have to park behind the place in what appears to be an apartment complex parking lot that is full.... very out of the way parking? Put a rear entrance if that's the case.
The location appears larger. Im not the biggest fan of the acoustics of the local as it's loud due to the open space and hard surfaces for sounds to bounce off. The visual appearance is nice though with their typical home grown honey bee charm. We had an eggs Benedict and Chilaquiles verde. The eggs Benedict was fine. The "pork belly" seemed to just be thin bacon though. The Chilaquiles had very little salsa verde. Some totopos (chips) had no salsa. The service on the other hand was very good with a charming and attentive server.
Nice to see this venu in Merriam for a better...
